Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers said former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick should be on a roster right now but said he is not because of his protests during the playing of The Star Spangled Banner.
Rodgers told ESPN he thinks Kaepernick should play in the NFL, but he believed the former quarterbacks national anthem protests were keeping him from a job.
"I think he should be on a roster right now," Rodgers said. "I think because of his protests, he's not."
Rodgers, 33, said he would not sit during the anthem, as some NFL players have done as a sign of support for Kaepernick. Rodgers, however, defined Kaepernicks protests as being peaceful and respectful.
"I'm gonna stand because that's the way I feel about the flag -- but I'm also 100 percent supportive of my teammates or any fellow players who are choosing not to," Rodgers said. "They have a battle for racial equality. That's what they're trying to get a conversation started around.
When asked how he felt about Kaepernicks reason for protesting, Rodgers said it was difficult to place himself in Kaepernick's shoes.

I scanned that ESPN article Eveline Woodhead style and yeah, he rejected Christ and became his own god.
God hates such pride, there is so, so much going around in the world right now.
I hope Aaron comes around mercifully, because well, God can bring people back around any way He chooses to.
My neighbor rejected Christ, he quit talkng to me, I quit talking to him, he had a stroke, wants to talk to me about Jesus now. He can’t talk at all now but, he listens well.
Sports are like politics, do something stupid and YOUR OUT!
Then give up your spot & salary Aaron!
That's true. There are plenty of lousy QBs, so why would anyone want a controversial lousy QB? As I said before you can be a crappy player or a cancer on the team, but not both.
Sorry, Aaron, but that crud... won't chew--
My opinion of your intellect... just dropped to the bottom of the bucket.
He was a great QB, but even they can’t overcome a terrible team, without a decent Offensive Coordinator. Jed York choose to have a terrible team, when he fired a good coach.
What would Vince Lombardi do?
Some go further as far as Rodgers and weenie.
He might have sat him down and explained to him that he is not only letting his team down, that he is letting the Green Bay Packer org down and most important the fans.
And if he persisted, that he could go play for the Philly Eagles or Washington Redskins who were real dogs of teams at that time after the early 60s. Then, he would have traded him to one of those two teams.
Jim Ringo found out.
racial equality will happen when more intelligent citizens dumb themselves down.
A process in place today in the classrooms of higher education.
I’m shocked that Rodgers would say this.
Every white person I know would love to be equal in pay to those black folks in pro sports.
What an idiotic thing to say.
I think they simply want to be "more equal" than whites.
Exactly. And all the sports announcers and their PC ilk completely ignore this primary consideration—as if it doesn't exist. Every business in the world has known this Truth since the beginning of time. If you as an employee have a political axe to grind, you do it on your time, not company time. Live it. Learn it. Love it. It's utterly asinine to expect anything else, and there will be no new precedents set.
The NFL is an entertainment business, and when as a player (a performer) you start driving customers away because you're offending them by insulting America, instead of entertaining them, then you are costing both your team and your league money. As soon as that becomes the case, your athletic talent becomes irrelevant, or at least distinctly secondary, because money talks, and bullsh-t walks.
That's why the Dallas Cowboys have truly cemented themselves as "America's Team", because Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has said that his team's players will stand for the flag (the anthem) or "you're ass will be off the team". That's where the sympathies of the vast majority of NFL fans lies, and the NFL better get it through their thick skulls, or they will continue to profusely bleed millions of fans as they bleed millions of dollars...
My gawd, the fist thee paragraphs say the same thing. Sounds like my ex...everything she said came in 3’s. Jack, Jack, Jack...:)
No more Aaron Rogers for me. Just another liberal bastard.
Good idea rogers, give him your job.
Boy the leftards are never going to let this kaepernick thing go, ever. It’ll ten years from now and these race obsessed whackos will still be whining about it.
Depends on how much money he expects for the quality that he has. I might buy a used car, but I won’t pay new car price for it.
