There’s always at least one in the crowd.
On my part, thanks for the wonderful constant flow of good information and updates.
You’ve done a stellar job in making this thread what it is.
Is it possible Orlando will get a Cat 3?
I thought I saw this on Fox this morning.
My family there promised they would leave for a Cat 3
Now it’s probably too late to leave
And you learn more with every one that happens.
Shades of Baghdad Bob.
I know a bunch of people evaced to Orlando I hope they don’t get hit too hard.
“the experts have an interest in telling people just how bad this can be.”
That’s what Rush said the other day. That even if the storm became a non-threat, the experts, and especially the MSM, are too invested in the hype to back off very much.
And yesterday Shep was recalling good memories there, too. Did not surprise me.
And if they get hit, then it’s not hype.
The problem is, weather is a dynamic system, in a constant state of change.
There is no way possible to predict with 100% accuracy just where it’s going to make landfall. They do the best they can with the information they have.
Instead of blaming the meteorologists for not being perfect, a standard which NOBODY has ever reached mind you, how about those that don’t get it after all just breathe a sigh of relief and THANK GOD for being spared?
Because if they did get hit, it would have been as bad as predicted.
Per one of the WX channels Most recent hurricane hunter flight clocked max winds of 120mph. Big drop. Whatever. It’ll restrengthen once it leaves cuba.
Better to have been prepared and not have needed it, than not being prepared and dyung as a result.
They would be vilified if they DIDN’T warn people.
So they are damned if they do and damned if they don’t.
So what are they supposed to do?
What would YOU do?
Psalm 118:24English Standard Version (ESV)
24 This is the day that the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.

My glass is always filled.
Heard that too. The rub is our planes are limited as to how far south they can fly due to Cuba’s restricted airspace. So they can’t go all the way into the storm like they need to until it clears Cuban territory.
Exactly,IMHO,this has been one really tough hurricane to forecast, consensus of opinons I have read suggest it will strengthen over the straits but at this point who really knows.
Thing is 120mph vs. 150mph is two different worlds.
Good morning lovely lady.
The First lady and I are bugging out at approximately 1800 hrs. We are in zone A.
Something I haven’t seen before. A police suv with loud speakers announcing that we must evac. Where we live a storm surge of 6’ will flood us.
Next stop, Odessa.
5.56mm
Many thousands of SE FL residents evac’d to Orlando.
Fox is showing video clips of the Bahamas. Looks awful.
Exactly, but bugging out when you are in the path of a storm like Irma is still a good idea.
What’s almost ironic is who is going to know besides us if the planes go into Cuba’s airspace?
