What I’m seeing and hearing is west also....at least at this point...think it’s going to hard turn much from the wobbling back and forth we’re seeing thus far?
More West, definitely. Maybe Irma even turns SW toward/over Yucatan I think (also an open sea sailor).

.....And some people just find it of interest to see how things will go and how hurricanes operate....all kinds of folks are zeroed in on this unusual happening....some with family members in the line of fire or potential of...others who study and inform us.......it’s a national event that doesn’t occur often and certainly not in the way this hurricane has shown itself and as as we’ve watched this develop......which is also of interest to thousands if not millions.....
So....nobody can dictate how others should react nor see this event....and yes some will “feel” the emotion of the event more than others. Those who are stoic won’t...but we’re all in just the same.
I don’t know why this would be other than what ingtar said, but this is the first I’ve heard of this.
***BTW, wife’s brother in Tallahassee says hundreds of people are camped at the rest stop just west of Tallahassee on I-10. Out of gas or no other place to stay. Cars parked on the side of the freeway a mile or more on either side of the rest stop.***
The part of evacuating people & government officials don’t like to talk about. Oh they got millions of people out of South Florida, still in the path of the hurricane stuck in traffic in their cars.
But the evacuation was a success.

1935 hurricane wasn’t hugging Cuba’s coast like Irma...Irma may cross *over* Cuba still heading West.
Could change again also. At any rate it’s headed for Florida entire no matter left or right...right? Meanwhile will continue to post the latest fro Noaa just the same as I did that.
Just offering it up for interest...people are getting too critical so I’ll call it a night....
