I don’t like that at all.
Yes it is a model “Projection” and it is almost 42 hours from now. Of course it is subject to change. Its just a prediction based on a mathematical model(a very complex formula). Current weather information is input, and the model runs. Unfortunately as we have seen again and again- It is subject to some error. Usually it gets closer to nailing the actual path the closer it gets to real time.
Thanks....You can add this one too.....

Seriously?
People have to realize. The 1935 Labor Day hurricane, the most intense landfall in US history, went from a Cat 1 to a Cat 5 in the waters that Irma is forecast to cross at close to the same time in September. And Irma is already a Cat 5 before crossing those waters.
Yeah the front running through Gainesville and up to Georgia. Moving SW. To NE. No info on water vapor quadrants for Irma.
I am in Boca Raton less than 3 miles inland and we are already feeling a little kick in the gusts in the last 30 minutes from that last bump north as it rakes Cuba’s coast. I can’t imagine being in the Keys right now
Still looks like the eye bounced off the coastline...graphic stops too soon to determine how long it hit the shoreline...at any rate cuba’s going to have some damage after a cat 5 this size engulfed, bounce or not.
Thank you.
Definitely got a little bounce off Cuba. Understandable due to added friction or slowdown in Western Quadrant.
The good news is that the area of Cuba getting hit is sparsely populated.
I have a bad feeling as that stationary front seems to be pushingthe hurricaine more south and west like into the gulf west....New Orleans could be in for a surprise...
What does that portend?
Now boys.....weather-lady here reminding you to play nice....you sound like two school kids in a playground match pulling underwear over each others shoulders...LOLOLlolol...
Thank you for that update on Jose and Bermuda! Hope Jose heads east out to sea...
Simply horrifying scenario. I say that as one who was at ground zero 24 hours ago and now am gradually moving outside the cone. Thank you for a very sober and real analysis of what is going on. Ignore the idiots saying stupid things on this thread. You obviously know what you are talking about
Somewhere I read that 5.6 million people have evacuated? Seems hard to believe, and yet...
Yes...but even that photo was BEFORE Irma hit....there’s nothing, after looking again.....other than people saying it hit.....communication and power went out early.
