China says Trump's trade threat over N. Korea 'unacceptable'
abc news ^ | Sept. 04, 2017

China on Monday criticized President Donald Trump's threat to cut off U.S. trade with countries that deal with North Korea and rejected pressure to do more to halt the North's nuclear development.

Trump issued the threat after North Korea on Sunday exploded a thermonuclear device in its sixth and most powerful nuclear test. The threat was seen as a warning to China, North Korea's main trading partner and only major ally.

A foreign ministry spokesman, Geng Shuang, criticized Trump's stance as unfair to Beijing.

"What is definitely unacceptable to us is that on the one hand we work so hard to peacefully resolve this issue and on the other hand our interests are subject to sanctions and jeopardized," Geng said at a regular news briefing. "This is unfair."

Such an approach would be drastic if applied to China, from which the United States imports goods worth about $40 billion a month.

Trump said it was under consideration "in addition to other options."

Asked whether Beijing would support tougher U.N. sanctions such as cutting off oil supplies to North Korea, Geng didn't mention oil but said whatever happened would depend on discussions among council members. Geng said China, one of five permanent Security Council members with power to veto U.N. actions, would take part in a "responsible and constructive way."

Geng expressed frustration at Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull's comment that Beijing had a responsibility to influence North Korea due to its status as the North's main trading partner.

I wonder if one of their missiles could be hacked to have a little “malfunction”, whoops Tubby accidentally nuked Beijing. That may change their attitude a bit.

That would be slick.

Stopping trade with China will hurt us as much as hurting China.

But not as much as an EMP attack will hurt us.

Thanks for your input, but every American should start boycotting Communist Chinese products with vengeance, until they stop trading with their good friends the North Koreans.

And it's ironic, few individuals will even admit to being invested in Communist China now.☺

I wonder if a mass blockade would reduce enough food sources so that it even effects the troops going without.

China is using their North Korean proxy to bluster and bully for the local area and America.

The Chinese know what game they are playing. And they know they and their boy are setting the tone.

They’re kinda pretty much the same as the MSM and the Democrats.

We’re in a near-war situation. Democrats and the MSM are committing treason with their nonsense. /rant

Turning up the heat on China is the right thing to do. Doing so reminds the Chinese they have a LOT TO LOSE if they don’t use their influence to curb North Korea’s mad man leader.

We’ll have to start manufacturing a few things.

It’ll be a win-win.

If Communist China and North Korea are not good friends, why is Communist China propping up and pumping in massive goods, supplies, products and food into North Korea?

The real problem down the line is not north Korea at all, but China.

North Korea is not worth making a deal with china, we need to alt China’s military expansion by way of trade tariffs and isolation until they become a democracy.

Use North Korea as an excuse but remember China is the problem not North Korea, which can be handled by South Korea and Japan.

“We will take out fat boy as a very very last resort. It will be awhile. Problem is that thousands and thousands of SoKo’s could perish. Then what to do with a leaderless North Korea?”

The fatboy has been making threats against south Korea for 50 years, its highly unlikely he will ever risk being crushed by caring thou with them.
He wants money and attention, so he can keep building his capabilities until the day he imagines he can actually win the war.

Thanks to his own disastrous socialist failures we can easily assure that day will never come by arming South Korea and Japan with their own nuclear weapons. Thus demonstrating with or without the USA being scared into neutrality as he hopes to achieve, Japan and south Korea will stand up to him on their own.

All that said the real game is not North Korea, but China. Who is more than likely the real puppet master, and the reason there is a North Korea.

Arming Japan and South Korea with their own nuclear weapons will put China in the same pickle as North Korea. Most importantly seriously limiting China’s tactical options against either nation in future confrontations for regional hegmently over the much needed resources of the East China Sea.

A conflict China is no doubt hoping to accomplish in the same way as the South China sea, by keeping the USA largely out of the conflict having no stake to fully throw in behind ether side.

But this is critical to both South Korea and particularly Japan who depends upon the sea for much of its food, and most of its trade. North Korea can and should be used as a Proxy to rearm both theses countries to stand up for themselves and their resources against the real threat China.

I don’t know much of the area dynamics related to North Korea, but I do believe the later part of that statement is true.

The prior part probably is too, I’m just not in the know enough to agree.

It is reliably reported that they have enough food stored to feed their army for quite some time.

China is our enemy and unless more of the American people realize that we won't be able to do what's necessary to stop them. We need to stop compromising with China on trade issues for helping us with problems they are intentionally creating.

I think this is an issue that Steve Bannon understands better than most. China has total control of NK and uses it as a distraction from the real issue, and we react exactly how they want every time.

We have cut China out of our purchases. It’s difficult at times but if we al did it for just 6 months the results would be amazing

This is complete bullshit. It's one of the many disgusting lies we've been fed by the donor class when it comes to issues that are detrimental to our country and the average American. It's disgusting, but at least people seem to be waking up to these manipulative lies. You're one of the last left here that still spews the same old establishment crap that many of us fell for in the past.

It may be my perverse sense of humor or my inability/unwillingness to stomach butt-hurted-ness and BS (as I've grown older), but I would have laughed my b*lls off, if I had been in the same room when he said this, with what I presume, was a straight face.

Momma never said I'd grow up to be a diplomat . . .
