“should we actually celebrate his dying in such a horrific way?”
No, it’s that the ‘children’ should let it be a lesson.

Have you noticed - and I’m sure you have - that the lefties are happy to have the police rack up massive hours and overtime to patrol their events and protests?
Isn’t Burning Man about lawlessness in terms of absolute freedom, even if it’s a temporary illusion?
Who is approving these massive police expenditures at events where the police aren’t even welcome?

He seems to be wearing either a ticket pass or a water bottle around his neck? On drugs or just plain suicidal?

“On drugs or just plain suicidal?”
He overdosed on the meaning of it all and the symbolism was his dealer.

The guy probably figured out that every piece of food he ate, shelter he utilized, vehicle he drove, clothes he wore were the ultimate product of thousands of years of white men oppressing everyone else on the planet.
Since he was a white man there was only one way he could be morally pure....
Burning snowflake!

“Was it a grand symbolic gesture with the intention being to make a political statement to all of mankind or just a seemingly ironic act of insanity?”
I think his point is that his fate awaits ALL OF US, now that Trump has pulled out of the Paris Climate Accord.
A well-done piece of performance art, for sure.

Perhaps the festival should be re-named “Don’t Be Burning Man”.

“Now that they have their martyr, they can start calling it something SO much more meaningful.”
Exactly, just watch. The $500 tickets from this year will be over $1,000 next year, now that there is some REAL ENTERTAINMENT for people to watch.

BAN BURNING MAN!Go put a sock in it. As much as the Taliban wing of conservatism loathes the thought of people anywhere having fun, we're not banning Burning Man.

The event is a shallow imitation of pagan rites culminating in human sacrifice, for people desperately seeking genuine experience. Lieutenant Literal just had one. I wonder if festival attendees found this satisfying.
