Good evening, ML...((HUGS))...you and Penny enjoying the new places? Does she just walk, or does she need to stop and check out every new smell?
Did you do pub night?
It rained last night, and seems to have awakened some insects. Even with Deep-Woods Off, I got stung by a wasp on my left index finger (the one that plays chords) when i tried to brush it off my leg. Naturally, Penny and I had to rush on home to take an antihistamine. I am not allergic, but the OTC allergy pill did a lot to reduce the swelling and sting. And here, I am, typing away.
When Penny has been on the trail before, she stops and sniffs...probably because she can smell her own markings. This would be useful if we ever got lost...but none of the trails are that dense. And, of course, I have my compass and my cell phone. The funny thing is, even in what seems like dense woods, if I am totally quiet and listen...I can hear the sound of traffic!
I have been singing an old Billy Joel song some nights (You May Be Right), and it’s a huge crowd pleaser. However, Billy Joel, at his last concert, did something SO obnoxious that i don’t even want to sing his songs anymore! He is at Fenway Park tonight, and if he tries it again, I hope the crowd BOOOOOOOS him!
Grrrrrrrrrr.
