This is a win-win for the SJWs. If the leftists have their way, the NFL becomes another useful idiot for the socialists. If the non-leftists give up on the NFL in disgust, the NFL folds, and another icon of American culture is overthrown, just like the statues, and the colleges before them, and the definition of marriage before them, and the breakdown of the family before that, and the normalization of drugs before that.

All of this Kaepernick crap is noise - he made his bed, let him lie there a while. The real issue with the NFL and, in fact all professional sports in the US is that we, the ultimate providers of revenue to the NFL and its franchises, pay for everything they have today. In light of the $125 million deal for the Lions quarterback (second rate at best) brings these issues to a boiling point. As fans we have to ask ourselves, how long will we continue to support this kind of lifestyle with absolutely no benefit accruing to us - the fan.

We pay far more for stadiums than Mercedes Benz does for naming rights, what’s wrong with that picture - to start why do we support public funding pf stadiums. Owners say they can’t afford it - start by offering the Lions guy $2mm a year, which is more than a lifetime of pay for most of us for his 6 months service. Ths alone frees up more than $100mm to service stadium debt. By the way, if stadiums are such a great investment, why are they not all owned privately????

Wake up sports fans, we’re are getting screwed right, left, center, over and under every day - it’s about time we stood up and say no more. So if you ask me, the entire nation should stand up and “no-show” week 1 of the NFL, stop buying player/team shirts etc. and don’t go to the game.

The alternative, shut up and keep paying!

” a Seventh-Day Adventist church in Alabama accused the NFL of racism and announced a pro football “blackout.” “

The League is 70% black.

There are 350 million people in this country. It amazes me that people are surprised or offended when something occurs they aren’t comfortable with. The NFL will continue to generate billions of dollars a year. The ratings will be fine. The owners will hire or shun whoever they want. All this nonsense will stop once the games begin. Take all your “outrage” at the NFL and channel it into helping Houston or something productive.

NFL GTH! It even rhymes. Makes a good Chant. We will not not not pay one cent to NFL so long as it puts on these horribly- insulting anti- American displays. GTH, NFL, and you can take your high priced ripoff tickets with you

“Two sports bars in Chicago are also boycotting NFL games “

Waiting for video of BLM types invading a sports bar on a Sunday afternoon raising hell about NFL games being shown.

Should make for some “sporting” video.

“The NFL between a Rock and a Hard Place”

You can say that of the whole country. We are so divided culturally and racially that you wonder how much longer it will be before one or more states start “taking a knee” and leave the union.

If this keeps up, there may be a movement to oust Roger Goodell from the Commissioner’s office. No wonder why they still haven’t announce the extension of Goodell’s contract.

Could solve it with one statement: To the NFL, the Anthem means support and honor to the troops, present and past. Period.

To elaborate: for the NFL, it’s not specifically support for cops, Trump, the wars themselves, slavery, racists, etc - but the men and women who were/are soldiers/sailors/airmen. They allow the NFL to exist.

So, stand during it, or you’re fired.

I am convinced that we have now seen peak NFL.

My feeling is that the NFL is on a slow downward trend die to a number of factors of which the proverbial last straw has been the Colin Kaepernick saga and the National Anthem imbrologio.

I am 62, and thus I enjoyed what I think was the true golden years of Pro Football when I was kid growing up in the 1960’s and 1970’s.

The games did not drag out and for such a long time they were on only on Sunday afternoons, rarely was there ever a night game, until Monday Night Football.

Today the NFL has milked the product just about dry. Too many games broadcast, games on Sunday, Monday and Thursday. They have just unsaturated the market.

Throw in the concussion and injury problems and are the Millennial's really interested in the game and you have to think that the NFL may be on it's way to a slow decline over time. We will have to wait to see what the ratings are for this year, but I suspect they will be down to some degree.

If the owners would agree to kick out all the protesters they might get us back; but they won’t and they won’t. NFL is dead to me.

So how will this play out?

From Nissam Taleb ‘The Most Intolerant Wins”...

“It suffices for an intransigent minority –a certain type of intransigent minorities –to reach a minutely small level, say three or four percent of the total population, for the entire population to have to submit to their preferences.”

The NFL produced some very good football and brought some very good individuals to the fore through their talent, discipline and conviction. It’s is now committing suicide through politics and racism intruding where it has no place. Kaepernick will claim lasting fame for his role in this fatal situation.

I’ll miss some of the games but I enjoy soccer even with its faults.

But for the money stolen from me to underwrite their damned stadiums and subsidizing their “salaries”...I’d shut down this kindergarten but quickly.

Patriotic Americans want one thing, and unpatriotic don’t-wanna-be-Americans want another thing.

The solution is simple. Completely offend and alienate one of the two groups.

...black players want social change...

They want a world in which any bullsh!t cocoction of their culture will be accepted and promoted unconditionally. Loved pro football. Hope, now, that they kill the goose and return to their levels of competence.
