Conservative group hoping for 'perp walks' after breakthrough in IRS lawsuit
Washington Examiner ^ | 8-27-17 | Melissa Quinn

One of the groups that sued the Internal Revenue Service over its targeting of conservative and Tea Party groups believes there has been a breakthrough that will help them draw a more complete picture of what went on behind the scenes at the agency, four years after it took its case to court.

In a lawsuit involving True the Vote, Judge Reggie B. Walton of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ordered the IRS last week to release the names of employees involved in targeting conservative and Tea Party groups. Walton also told the IRS to explain why groups were targeted and search for additional records in agency databases from May 2009 to March 2015.

Oh Little Things

Like a Federal court order

You only have to obey those if they use un-Constitutional rationale like “racial profiling” to prevent law enforcement

The IRS will just stonewall the judge. After all, where does he think his paycheck comes from?

They know that. It’s why Koskinen is still there.

The IRS will act like it’s frozen in cement trying to “find” documents. That’s all the more reason the dept needs to be completely demolished.

This IRS scandal, IMO, is a direct crime committed against the American people. The people responsible should be brought to justice no matter who they turn out to be. No matter how high up it goes.

We're supposed to have justice for all but it seems swamp lizards and politicians are exempt somehow? They'd do well for themselves to remember that an in-just system always collapses on itself.

Time to take out the trash America and get rid of the IRS. #DRAIN THE SWAMP

If the IRS stonewalls, they should be thrown in jail for contempt of court until they are willing to comply.

Just what powers do a court actually have against an entity like the IRS. If the IRS just says go to hell and flat refuses to cooperate, what can a judge do with his own army? Can a President break an IRS stonewall? They are all Civil Service over there and it would take an actual Act of Congress to change anything and even that couldn’t accomplish much without an army of marshal if the IRS bosses are determined to not submit.

Yes please even though we know the MSM and other leftist news ploppers won’t show it. Probably won’t even mention it or if they do; a 10 second afterthought kind of thing.

I think every mention of the IRS should be an occasion to really push for the FairTax.

I attended an IRS Tax Forum in Washington DC for three days this past week. Many of the programs were presented by people in top IRS positions.

One program was a two hour program on Non-Profit Organizations and preparing 990’s. Even though Lois Lerner is gone, the anti-Trump attitude was still very prevalent.

I think it should be an occasion for the repeal of the 16th amendment and the abolition of all federal taxes on citizens.

If Trump can get DOJ cooperation, he could have the judge issue a search warrant. Then FBI agents could just walk in, demand records, and immediately cuff anybody who gives them crap.

It would be great to expose the level of corruption the is prominent within the Democrat party but we all know this is never going to happen. The current majority in Congress are spineless and more interested in sabotaging Trump than actually representing their constituents

-—why groups were targeted——

The Why is simple.

A very large of gathering conservatives, the first and only truly large group that measured in the tens of thousands, met a smaller group of marching leftists in the streets of Washington DC. The “Vietnam Wall” was protected against promised desecration. The leftists were forced to run the gauntlet of jeering conservative activists the whole length of their march.

This was the first and only such massive turnout of conservatives.

It scared the crap out of Obama et al and they went to immediate work to begin the destruction of the Tea Party to insure it never happened again. They were successful. They killed the Tea Party and formal opposition.

Obama et al should have been hung for their actions.

The turnout was so large, that it was not possible to gather with other FReepers known to be there. There were just too many people over such a large area.

>>repeal of the 16th amendment"

Amen, the only thing that will save our nation.

Article I Section IX Clause IV: No Capitation, or other direct, Tax shall be laid...

from the wisdom of the true, original Constitution.

I have Lois Lerner's signature on a letter, finally granting 501(c)(3) status to my small charitable organization.

We had to wait almost 2 years for the IRS to finishing "processing" our application for tax-exempt status, even though we're a completely apolitical and uncontroversial organization. And our Form 1023 application was very uncomplicated.

I always suspected that Lois Lerner kept us waiting that long, simply because we're located in a strongly Republican district.
