KHOU is online. Don't know your feed source. May need to close browser, reboot, empty cache, etc.

KHOU has water coming into the studio, and they will be moving upstairs at some point. Said when they do that, the broadcast will be rudimentary. For now, they are still in the studio and getting reports from street reporters around the area.

I did all that, now the feed is working. It seems like the reboot is what did the trick - not sure why. Thanks!

Judge Robert Hebert says Barker Reservoir May not Protect Us from Harvey

KATY (Covering Katy News) – The homes of Cinco Ranch reisdents who live near the Barker Reservoir are in real danger of flooding today. This information is coming from Fort Bend County Judge Robert Hebert. He includes homes in the Canyon Gate subdivision in his warning. There are neighborhoods in Harris County like Greentrails and Kelliwood that are also in danger.

“At the time of this release, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers forecasts that the water elevation within the Barker Reservoir will reach record levels,” Hebert said.

Given the judge’s statement, it is clear that all residents who live near the reservoir should prepare for potential evacuation. They don’t have to evacuate at this time but they should begin to think about that possibility – where they would go and what they would do in the event they had floodwaters at their front door.

Storms that hit the Katy area last year pushed the Barker Reservoir to its limits, but Hebert believes this year could be worse. If Harvey produces at or above forecasted rainfall amounts on Sunday, many streets will become impassable and the water will begin to threaten several thousand homes as it advances past the reservoir boundaries, according to Hebert’s statement.

KHOU does not have remote coverage for now as they are moving to the second floor. Below is the live link for Fox 26 (which is sometimes shown on Fox News):

I don’t know why, but that direct feed from KHOU’s website runs ok for a while, say, 30 minutes, then my screen goes intermittent (”black flashes” on the desktop, even when that window is minimized), and eventually the feed dies too (”error 404”), tho’ I’m still connected to their website. This time I closed the window B4 my computer became too unresponsive, and immediately the problems went away. Other feeds, like the ABC station seem to run without issue. I went back to KHOU and the problems resumed. I rebooted and they went away, but this time I’ll not stay on for long. :-(
