Feel I ought to say I see they’re now saying the Brazos crest at Richmond will be 4 or 5 FEET higher and will be Thursday night.
Guess it has to do with where the final rain band was.

There is a web page to monitor predicted levels and current level of rivers. The color blue means MAJOR FLOOD stage:

I assume the HGX stands for Houston/Galveston area...

Yikes! My elderly inlaws are stranded at their church with four others. I’m betting my FIL has raided the Communion wine at this point. They live close to Pecan Grove in Richmond. Lord, what a week!

What fell upriver is going to come back downriver, so there’s usually a second go-round with flooding on coastal plains that is messier than the first. It can go on for weeks, depending upon just where the heaviest precipitation fell.
