Hey Bud, You still with us?
Prayers up...
“As you think about this, a moment of remembrance should be shared for the town of Indianola, Texas. Never heard of it?”
Indianola by Brian Burns

This song will send a chill down your spine.
I am surprised that the no-kill animals rescue shelters are full. Other than for having taken in cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies in this emergency situation, those shelters must have had taken part in last week’s “Clear The Shelters”. It was nationwide.
I will keep you,the dog,and chickens in my prayers.
Yes... The local Humane Society, for example, told us they were having that event, and when I called back yesterday (per their instructions), no luck. I’m going to try a couple more, further away, today...
I would not think that “Harvey” would be a factor yet, as it’s over 900 miles away.
Thanks!
Dude, my garage is flooding!
taking a break from moving the pump around. Pump in in no way can keep up. Guess I'm screwed.
Indianola is such a sad sad story.
The cemetery is still there.
I’m sorry. Sounds like you’re in for a rough week.
I’d get some real good tape, like gorilla or duct tape, and tape up all the openings on your truck. Remove the dipsticks and tape shut the engine dipstick tube, trans dipstick tube, differential vents, the air intake (pull the rubber snout off and tape up the butterfly opening). Tape the end of the tailpipe.
Tape all around the door edges.
Radar showing several bands of very heavy rainfall in the metro Houston region, the worst of them appears to be running from Pearland to League City into eastern parts of Houston and amounts of 10” in two hours have been reported with that. Other heavy bands are feeding in from the south across western portions of the region, and a more confined band west of downtown. There are some pockets where rain is much lighter, and the bands are almost stationary adding to the totals they are dropping.
There are some areas of heavy rain left with the core of Harvey but the main action now seems to be more connected to feeder bands coming off the Gulf. The core of the storm is almost dead now southeast of Austin. But what’s left of it seems destined to loop around erratically for almost a week, in various parts of eastern TX. There is less chance of a return to the Gulf although that can’t be ruled out.
I was not thinking that Kelly “handled” the media, but that he would encourage Trump to make Presidential decisions that the media would react to or actually just report.
I don’t think Trump needed much nudging to give directives to try to keep him from a W/Katrina situation.
But I dislike every minute that Kelly is there “serving” President Trump.
And if the rain doesn’t move on from Houston very quickly, the feds are going to have to take some drastic actions to avoid finger-pointing back to Trump.
Someone explain something to me...this is a link from Drudge, a NOAA.gov web site:
Looks to ME like the gusts (not maximum sustained) hit 132.
So that would likely mean it was NOT a cat 4, at least when it hit land, right?
Global Warming must be responsible for the discrepancies.
This situation was pretty catastrophic
They have been rescued:

in Rockport, winds were reaching 145. It was every bit a cat 4.

Thanks for the update !
Prayers UP !
One of the Robison brothers wrote a song “Indianola”. Apparently there are remnants of the town (like 16’ under water)
