50% of black college graduates work for the government.
Those are now top paying jobs with great benefits and retirement. Government jobs now pay more and have more stability than private sector.
You can graduate from some HBCs without knowing how to read. They just keep passing them on grade to grade. Then out to the workforce.
It’s late, so I am not thinking all that clearly...what are HBC’s ?
This is a real problem on many levels. It maintains the illusion of a growing black middle class, which prevents any real education reform. The government still has to hire another qualified person to do the actual work, so taxes rise even more to maintain the façade. Finally, those token government “workers” have no real skill set, and thus no value in the private sector; when the government jobs aren’t available (or are eliminated), they are basically unemployable in anything but low-paying jobs.
