Fox reported they fired smoke and we could see people just standing around enveloped in it with seemingly no effect. While the guy was reporting smoke, the banner said tear gas.
I was unsure the tactical use of smoke in this situation unless it just makes them scared of low visibility and leave.

Fox News reported that the police have used NO tear gas cannisters....they are using a special kind of smoke cannister.
