Yes, it's very hard to believe how long we've been posting here! Remember what it was like back them? :-)

Oh...sorry to hear that it has outlasted your marriage. :-(

May be. I am not sure my you would want to insult me, as siding with boma. I want Trump to live up to his word. How many times did Trump say leave Afghanistan.

Would not be “perpetual war,” if not for the last two ineffectual pansie-assed “CICs,” who both preferred to kiss and bow to our enemies, rather than stomp the effing life out of them without mercy. But, eh, but go ahead and clutch those pearls, dear.

He is not afraid to back down from his first committment when advice and learning shows him it is better to do it another way. GROW UP some of you Freepers!!!!!

Exactly! As president, he is privy to info he never had as a candidate. And notice how he said how he had studied Afghanistan...I am sure he pored over documents, books, whatever. The man is smart. He went into those meetings and made his decision based on a wealth of knowledge.

I’ve got no problem whatsoever wiping out 40 million muzzies. In fact, I’ve got no problem wiping out all 1.65 billion of them.

"I wish Trump would say, 'We're going to burn all the poppy fields. . scorched earth with the Taliban and the poppy fields."

Why give them a heads-up? We don't know what his plans are. We'll all find out after it happens, which will make the media very upset.

Thanks for the clarification. You are right, he shouldn't let them know. I hope he is saying it to the Generals and commanders in the field. The left/MSM will go nuts if he does it. . another great reason to go for it.

I admire and respect President Trump.

I don’t see much evidence of it here with the B.S. being bandied about, but that was a first class speech.

Whether folks agree with it or not, it’s very clear Trump put a lot of time and energy into developing this strategy. I’m not going to repeat what he did along the way, but he laid it all out very nicely.

He has changed the rules of engagement and has put the nations in the region on notice, where he can’t get partnership alone to do the trick.

Where he can exercise partnership, he is doing so.

He has also put an end into nation building, but he is going to work with nations in the area to manage and look out for our interests.

Of course we’ll get the know-it-all wing-nuts on this forum that will trash Trump for promises not kept. He addressed that directly, mentioning his preliminary gut impression, and how he had to come to terms with that ultimately not being what he felt compelled to wind up doing.

Look, I am not always going to agree with Trump, but there is absolutely no doubt about his sincerity, his dedication to our nation, and trying to take measures he thinks will improve our safety and global position.

For those who think this is all about corporate greed, solely the government’s desire to feed the military industrial complex, you have to have a very cynical mindset to buy into that nonsense.

Yes we have a MIDC. Who knew that was a necessity so that we continually have new cutting military gear in the pipeline? Honestly folks, some of you sound like the idiots on other sites that hate anything military, or anything supporting the military.

Oh sure, you talk a great game about loving our troops, but when it comes to being on the battlefield finishing a job they want to finish, some of us forget to support them in that endeavor. We trash anyone who believes as they do in a victory.

There were days when Iraq was termed a never-win situation. We did win. We have a stable government there that is not threatening it’s neighbors. Sadly, we had a man as opposite of Trump as anyone I’ve ever seen, in President Obama.

Obama gave Iraq away. He didn’t have a fricken clue. And tonight as so many times before in Iraq, we have people wanting to pull out. Just pull out Mr. President.

You promised me you would, and that trumps anything else you can every say. /s

No, Trump is a born leader. He has viewed the situation in ways we simply can’t. He knows the situation on the ground better than anyone on this forum.

I’ll back Trump’s play in deference to any person on this forum.

We have a real president who needs our support, and that being the case some have chosen to brandish their arm chair quarterbacking skills. In a word, that’s just nauseating.

Our CIC has spoken. I stand behind him 100%.

Let the children explain why Trump is wrong and they are right. The rest of us will get on with our lives, supporting the best president we’ve had since Reagan, and perhaps even before Reagan.

Thank you President Trump.

There are losers out tonight, but you sure as hell aren’t one of them.

Seems to be a damn epidemic in this virulent strain of establishment kiss-ass crybabies, pearl-clutching concern trolls, and quisling armchair QBs on FR lately. Makes me nauseous!

“Jack Posobiec: No mention of China tonight in Afghanistan speech”

No mention of Jack Posobiec in Trump’s speech, either ... Poor Jack - he’s feeling slighted.

Did I miss the "confirmed" 4,000 troop increase?

I didn't hear that...in fact, I recall him saying he wouldn't announce anything ... anything ... ahead of time.

"How many times did Trump say leave Afghanistan."

You mean like this time?:

Thank you Exit82.

It’s embarrassing to read some of this tripe here tonight.

I guess they missed the election and that we now have a man who genuinely loves our nation and wants it to thrive.

He also touched on the unrest at home, and made some very good points there.

I guess that unnerved some folks so bad, they had to show unrest on the forum to make up for his fine words on the topic.

What a bunch of losers.

Every time I get myself very worried about President Trump, with such profoundly evil doers out to get him, this picture, or vision of Jesus comes to the forefront of my mind.

It is Jesus, with his Hands outstretched, He is smiling.

The thought then comes that He is telling me not to worry because He’s got it under control...and all will turn out as He wills it.

Well, it's sort of confusing to some....Afghanistan borders Iran on the west, but it is directly north of Pakistan, and Pakistan is NOT part of the the Middle East.

People in the UK call Indians and Pakis "ASIANS" and in a way, they're correct.

Bill O’Reilly: The president’s speech on Afghanistan was strong in tone but cloudy on specifics.

Mr. O'Reilly: think that was the point. He intends to be cloudy on specifics. LOL! That's what saves lives and wins wars.
