Agree, the IQ of FR has dropped a bit over the years.
The President gave an excellent and reasoned speech tonight.
You mean we should kill terrorists and refrain from nation building? Where have I heard that before? Somebody else said that tonight. In fact he gave a speech saying that.
More importantly.....YOU don’t know either and you obviously neither know nor understand diplomatic and military tactics.
“Bill OReilly: The presidents speech on Afghanistan was strong in tone but cloudy on specifics.”
Bill, we are not going to give the enemy specifics. That was Obama’s game.
And I was so wanting to bet you $100 bucks... but as expected... you chickened out.
I wish Trump would say, "We're going to burn all the poppy fields. . scorched earth with the Taliban and the poppy fields."
“No benefit of the doubt to 45...hope for best....but hope is running short after 16 years, thousands of lives and billions of dollars!”
One has to consider that 8 of those years were a total waste and we went backwards under General Obama.
There are a lot of us on FR and across the country who will agree with your sentiment; however, I think the President believes he will lose the respect of his troops if he doesn’t support their mission they’ve fought so hard to win. I’m sure that if he thought Mattis and others wanted out, he’d pull out like he wanted in the campaign. I don’t see it as political but strategic as their Commander in Chief.
For the first time tonight, I agree with you, Aussie.
He is working on the wall. And the president can walk and chew gum at the same time.
You joined to tell us this?
This thread should have been one of congratulations for our president. It's been turned into something else by a very few posters, all of them emotional little snowflakes.
I'll make a wild guess that it's half positive and half negative (if that), and the negatives won't abandon him over this.
Doesn't matter if I get it or not. The President was advised by the people he trusts and he admittedly changed his mind.
You will notice that he did not use any sleazy Political sleight of hand talk, he admitted that he changed his position and listed the reasoning behind it. He acted like a CIC who has grown in Office, despite the opinion of the DNC Media who believe he is just another lazy, stupid, "Republican" Billionaire. All those Democrat Billionaires are smarter than smart, especially the ones that get Subsidies from the Federal Government to keep their Businesses afloat. President Trump also went way beyond what has been done by his two predecessors in allowing the Military to do their Job which is to kill people and break things.
He also didn't show his hand to our Enemies (and Friends) like Lord Obama loved to do. He listed our expectations and put them on notice that this mess is in their Backyard.
“General Grahams formula of perpetual war isnt very reassuring either”
General Graham is not running the show.
You’re welcome.
This should set the record straight on Trump’s true Afghanistan policy during the campaign.
Here’s the URL for the transcript. Afghanistan is the first question O’Reilly asks Trump.
I read that Jim Acosta wants all the details, too! >> Working for the enemy
I’m sure this will come as a surprise to you... Nazis are not exactly like muzzie terrorists. It’s a religion thing and a belief that martyr leads to all the virgins don’t you know...
Exactly. Those soldiers knew it. I am sure that all members of the military serving around the world appreciate it.
I find your sincerity suspect.
“I want to go on record in saying that I fully support the Presidents decision to send troops to Afghanistan.”
Me too. I am on record for supporting President Trump in Afghanistan.
