Trump's Unintended Consequences: The Republican Party Reveals Itself
The American Thinker ^ | 08/21/17 | David Prentice

...The Republican Party once was the party of conservatives. It still is the only place any conservative can be elected in today’s political world. So far. Unfortunately, the party of Reagan has disappeared. Trump did not make them disappear, but his improbable run, and win, has revealed who the party really is.

And it ain’t pretty.

It’s been apparent for a while that they are the stupid party. But I never thought they were this stupid.

It’s been apparent for a long time they had Stockholm Syndrome. Captured by the left, they have been cowed into being spineless mushes afraid to be called names. But I never thought it was this bad.

It’s been apparent for a while this is a party interested in taking a back seat, as long as they get money, perks, and some kind of fame. But I never thought it was this corrupt.

In 1957, during 6th grade civics, the teacher made an off the cuff statement that there was little difference between the two parties, the dems and the pubs. I so wanted, all those years since then to discern a true difference. Now with Ryan and MdConnell, what she said 60 years ago has become prophetic.

I remember in 1992 when Pat Buchanan ran for the GOP nomination (or was it 96?) and he said that there wasn't a dimes worth of difference between the two parties. That really ticked me off and I thought he was nuts. Ha! I don't think even Pat knew how right he was.

She was right 60 years ago too. Reagan was an anomaly; we squandered the chance to make his revolution permanent when we let the 1996 nomination go to Bob "Let's Make a" Dole (if not earlier).

Rather than vote for a ‘Rat I simply will not vote.

This is the golden opportunity for the trump train. line up a ticket of those running in the primary that will commit to the Trump agenda, then promote them into office.

The Trump folks need an operation separate from the GOP. I sent money to support Trump. I coded my ID in a way that I would know if it transferred. Then the GOP was asking me for donations and to renew my membership. They got my name and address off of the Trump list. I called them saying, I had never been a member of the GOP and was not registered as GOP. Then the next request for funds was sent back with a note that they would not get one dime from me until I began to see GOP leaders supporting the Trump agenda

#DitchMitch

#DumpRyan

are words I live by.

I send funds monthly to the Trump campaign
