A source with direct knowledge of these matters tells Breitbart News that the senior staff at the White House, including National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster, did not brief President Donald Trump on the collision the Navy destroyer USS John McCain had with an oil tanker near Singapore before he originally seemingly dismissed the incident saying, thats too bad. Trump later, after receiving more information on it, tweeted that he hopes for the best for the lost sailors. The collision left 10 sailors missing and another five injured.
Thats too bad, Trump said when responding to shouted press questions about the collision of the USS John McCain with an oil tanker, per a White House pool report earlier in the evening.
Many took the comment to be disrespectful and something that critics would not let previous presidents get away with.

Okay..didn’t really understand your post.
He is going to gun for Mcmaster , Jared, Ivanka, Gary Cohn and Dina Powell.
Maybe Kelly
And basically validate why he was fired. Sniping at the White House when he could be attacking Dems or RINOs in Congress. Brilliant.
I agree. Why hold press conferences which are aimed to play “gotcha”?
He IS attacking the DEMS....IN THE WH.
But I understand your point.
Ben Shapiro who used to work for him claims he is quite vengeful. Don’t remember the word he used.
I hope he does go after the DEMS in the WH...no matter the reason for him doing it.
I don’t want any of those named people in the WH..with the exception of possibly Kelly.
Having served in the Army Operations Center in the Pentagon, thought several decades ago, the news of the accident would have gone through DoD channels to SecDef and then to the White House operations/crisis center, the ranking duty officer would have informed GEN Kelly, as the President’s Chief of Staff and the President. The National Security Council and the National Security Advisor, no mater the person filling the position, would NOT have been in the chain of command to relay such information to the President.
Thus, this is an unjustified attack on McMaster. I’m waiting for him to be blamed for the white house cook burning the President’s breakfast toast.
Thanks for the info.
I dont want any of those named people in the WH..with the exception of possibly Kelly.
Those people aren’t going anywhere. All Bannon is doing is depressing support for Trump and marginalizing Breitbart. Brilliant.
Btw, I don’t know the timing of these events. Should Trump have known by the time the questions were asked of him.
Thus, this is an unjustified attack on McMaster. Im waiting for him to be blamed for the white house cook burning the Presidents breakfast toast.
So you think Mcmaster shouldnt be called out ?
I vehemently disagree.
So once again I will call him out on hiring a CAIR diversity outreach person to head up Counterterrorism and wanting to hire the Benghazi talking points woman..who Trump thankfully NIXED
Why are our military ships crashing into other ships in the first place?? Did they all learn to drive in Los Angeles??
CVE is
Countering Violent Extremism (CVE)

The Muslim Public Affairs Council, which describes itself as an organization that works to promote “Islamic values of civic engagement, public safety and healthy identity formation,” is another group that lost funding. It said in a statement that it was told it “did not meet the criteria of working with law enforcement to counter violent extremism.” MPAC also said it is “considering all legal options in light of these changes.”
Almost all of the new grant recipients are law enforcement entities, including the Seattle Police Department, the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security and two county sheriff’s offices in Minnesota and California.
Like you, I don’t know the exact timing. It could be that who ever asked the question ‘got inside’ the military notification channel times, i.e. the questioner saw a flash news report. Or the President got it and issued his tweet, which I consider appropriate. I don’t expect a tweet of condolences to include specifics about what happened.
Here is what is not in the Breitbart article excerpt posted:
“Trump later, after receiving more information on it, tweeted that he hopes for the best for the lost sailors. The collision left 10 sailors missing and another five injured.”
“Thats too bad, Trump said when responding to shouted press questions about the collision of the USS John McCain with an oil tanker, per a White House pool report earlier in the evening.”
It sounds like that the President’s original comment was based upon the shouted question, without him knowing anything else about the accident. Thus those tweeting his original comment to a reporter is another ‘cheap shot’ by the anti-Trump crowd.

Breibart has become like a gossip magazine.
++++
Perhaps.
But my problem with Breitbart is the jumble of ads and click bait it presents. Apparently it’s a money making strategy but it really limits the time I spend on the website.
Reports were that Bannon chaired the editorial meeting at BN on Friday.
Thank you for the link. don’t forget that there is a 12 hour time difference between Singapore and Washington, DC. Thus 5am there is 5pm here. I think the time difference is a factor and that the President was at Camp David rather in the White House. He may have gotten an initial brief of ‘an accident happened’ and not much else before he was asked the question. I don’t see the President at making “cheap shots” or being ‘insensitive’ toward the military...that is the entire view of his predecessor.
