“Elder Cleavage” as Archie Bunker called him. He ran in the 1986 U.S. Senate GOP primary (lost to the liberal Republican Ed Zschau). He placed 9th out of 13 candidates, right behind the son of ex-Sen. Bill Knowland.
Bruce Herschensohn should’ve gotten the nomination, and might’ve had he faced a runoff with Zschau.

I liked endorsing people there, but they won’t let me anymore since the site went offline and came back, and the list of endorsers cut off when it filled up so I couldn’t see all of mine, I’d wanted to delete a couple.
Crowded primary, like 1988’s. Hate to see a RINO win with just 37%. He almost beat Cranston though.
No county wins for 3rd place (Antonich, LA Supervisor who just lost a State Senate race) and Bobbi Fiedler (she gave up a House seat to place a poor 4th? Ouch) but the 5th place dude had scant plurality wins in tiny Alpine and Lassen, and he was from LA County, odd.
