I was a teen in the 80s and remember him specifically for being some kind of nutrition guru for obese people. The one guy he was trying to help weighed over 1200 pounds and hadn't left his house for almost 20 years.

Lost 100 3 years ago and been back and forth 10 pounds or so ever since.
