One week after violent protests rattled Charlottesville, Virginia, a scheduled free speech rally in Boston today was met with thousands of counterprotesters, but the day went off mostly smoothly, police said, with 27 arrests for assaults on police Officers, but few injuries.

.... After the free speech event has concluded, counterprotesters still swarmed Boston this afternoon, and riot police also responded in the city.

... Amid the confrontations, Boston police tweeted that individuals are asked to "refrain from throwing urine, bottles and other harmful projectiles at our officers."

Was this a pro trump rally?

Many permitted demonstrators were wearing pro Trump/MAGA shirts from before and after the election.

One of the scheduled speakers was a Libertarian Congressional candidate.

I believe it was billed as a "Free Speech" rally.

“The cradle of a great republic is now a cesspool of rats, snowflakes, communists, anarchists, the mentally ill the ill informed and deviant.”

If you think this is bad, just wait until Tuesday in Pheonix

Few injured? WTF? Orwell.

Yep, because the coppers shut down the permitted Free Speech part way early and cleared them out, most scheduled speakers were prevented from speaking just as in Orwell's 1984.

The Anitfa were allowed to run wild over the area after that, and had no one to attack, but I'll bet they vandalized a lot.

Everything you said is correct. Yet just minutes ago Trump congratulated the protesters for shutting down a rally in favor of free speech:

Apparently, defending the First Amendment to the US Constitution while wearing a Trump hat is now internationally agreed upon to be prima facie hateful behavior.

Even Trump agrees!

Yep, but I'm not worried, President Trump is a better option than most any other Republican elitist wuss or Communist Terrorist DemoRat politician there is out there.

Anyway, I never expected President Trump to agree with me or offer the hard line support I desire for MY principles. He is a dealmaker, not a politician.

Like Franklin said: we'll see if we can keep our Republic.

From your earlier post:
“There was zero instigation from the scheduled speakers because they disbanded by “mutual agreement” with the police before they were even able to speak. Mob rule wins again as the first amendment suffers another crushing defeat! All brought to you by democrats.”

When it was pointed out to the Police Commissioner during his press conference that a lot of the pro-free-speech presenters didn't’ get to speak, he said basically: “Yeah, we stopped them. We didn't want to hear what they had to say anyway.”

So, I guess it is the Boston Police Commissioner who now has the last word on who gets to exercise their first amendment rights, even when there is a permit to speak and assemble granted ahead of time. And, any of us who assemble to promote our first amendment rights are now the problem, and we need to be stopped. If this country continues on this present course many of us need to start looking for another country to call home. Look at South Africa and Zimbabwe if you have any doubt as to what will happen. Just imagine Maxine Waters in charge and the Black Lives Matter thugs setting policy.

I was watching a live feed around 10:30AM and the police were there in good numbers but the protestors were in such large numbers I don’t believe anyone wanting to attend the free speech rally, would have been prevented - one way or another,

Don't think a wall will, either. There is always cancer on the safe side.

And here's the issue: Doesn't make a difference what state you are in; the media and liberal political arm are working in tandem to align anyone who disagrees with them with Nazis.

Pretty straightforward.

There are public spokesmen here and there with courage to stand up to it, but the majority simply don't, and as sad as that is, I believe it. So anyone in your state who is not courageous enough is going to be a healthy cell converted to a cancerous one, and the fatal rot will come from within, not without.

I think that is going to be how it is, but...I still hold out hope there will be someone to stand up. Not just Trump or hoping Trump will be the one, because he has to and is supposed to.

I am looking for someone in the Senate or House to take it. We need some of them to be counted. I will make sure to correspond my wishes to not only my own representatives but some select others.

That's the issue. Not just trying to shut our opponents up. Just guarantee for them they will be able to open theirs in the future, as distasteful as it is.>

Protect OUR rights in addition to the rights of those whom we despise, and do it against their will if necessary, because that loss of freedom is clearly a sword that will cut their own throats, a fact they cannot see because they are blinded with hate. They have lost all rationality.

I can see people being bent out of shape by that statement, but...the truth is not hateful.

"Evans said roughly 40,000 people descended on Boston today, "standing tall against hatred and bigotry in our city, and that's a good feeling." He added that he wished the "trouble makers stayed away," who he said weren't there for either the free speech side or the counterprotesters' side, but "were here just to cause problems."

Screw you, chief. The people who were arrested were there to protest the free speech rally; they were part of the opposition, and don't make excuses for them you stinking coward.
