In today’s Trump-administration Friday news dump, the New York Times reports that Trump’s infamous senior strategist Steve Bannon is out at the White House. A source close to the matter told the Times Bannon had actually submitted his resignation notice on August 7 and the announcement had been pushed back following the violence in Charlottesville. The Wall Street Journal attributes Bannon’s resignation to his disagreements with Trump’s chief of staff, John Kelly. Politico says Bannon’s “tactics and behavior” ultimately did him in. And Reddit and 4chan, well, they’re bummed no matter what lost Bannon the job.
Over on 4chan, users are discussing whether or not they’ll continue to support Trump now that Bannon is gone. While there’s some support for a Bannon-free Trump administration, the bulk of comments mourn the senior strategist in some, uh, colorful language. Here’s a sampling of comments from the thread. There’s a similar conversation happening over on Reddit, too. Though it’s slightly — thank you, moderators — more tame.
Meanwhile, Twitter reaction has been everybody making the same joke about Trump taking down a pro-Confederacy statue at the White House. The statue, of course, being Bannon.

The people on 4chan are NUTS. A friend’s 30-yr old son is constantly on their site. He says Hitler was right, the Jews are running the world, & conservatives will all become Nazis to fight the left. It’s obnoxious to listen to him & he seems to be influencing his mother (my friend). His father passed away a couple of years ago. Makes me sick!

LOL... If firing Bannon is all it took to get this guy off the train... that’s a bit sad. Maybe if the people regretting voting for him are lucky the msm, dems, gope, hollywood and Antifa can allienate enough voters that they can primary him with Mitt, Kasich, or Rubio next time around. That would just solve everything wouldn’t it?/s

And it looks like they were wrong, too! The most recent Bannon statement I read was that he is “going to war for Trump”. That sounds like they both believe he is stronger working from outside the White House! Lots of important elections coming up in 2018.
We’re going to do just fine. Trump has good instincts and has been making the right moves so far. He’s the first TRUE PATRIOT (in BOTH word and deed) that we’ve had in the White House since Reagan IMHO. I’m standing with Trump and fighting to bring him reinforcements (Roy Moore, Kelli Ward and many others) to help drain the swamp. Defeating the Swamp Critters will take a long “war”.
