Newt Sounds The Alarm: Trump Won’t Have ‘Stable’ Presidency Without ‘Serious Changes’ [VIDEO]

Former Speaker of the House and longtime Trump supporter Newt Gingrich is seriously worried about the future of Donald Trump’s presidency.

Gingrich, who has consistently been one of Trump’s most optimistic supporters, said Friday morning that Trump is more isolated than he realizes and needs to make “serious changes” if he’s going to have a stable presidency.

“I think he’s in a position right now where he’s much more isolated than he realizes,” Gingrich said in an interview with Fox News’ Bill Hemmer. “On the Hill, he has far more people willing to sit to one side and not help him right now, and I think that he needs to recognize that he’s taken a good first step with bringing in General Kelly, but he needs to think about what has not worked. You don’t get down to 35 percent approval and have people in your own party shooting at you and conclude that everything’s going fine.”

“How many times have we had this conversation? It was John McCain, Gold Star families and Access Hollywood. Is this week that much different than the numerous other situations?” Hemmer asked.

“It is only different in that you go through little ground, little ground, little ground, and after a while you have enough different people pull back that you are in a qualitatively different position and right now, that if he wants to get his agenda enacted that if he wants get things done and have a presidency that is stable, he is going to have to have a couple of serious changes,” Gingrich said.

“I think ‘The Art of the Comeback,’ which is a fascinating book that he wrote in 1997, is a really helpful reminder and he needs to think of what hasn’t been working and what he will do that is more effective in the rest of the presidency.”

This needs to be seen for exactly what it is:

1: Very wise words from a very wise long-term, intense, Conservative, important Trump supporter.

2: Thankfully, a prescription to remedy the problem.

3: Not in any way an attack on the president, but rather a well-charted course to remedy some very obvious problems besetting him.

Please remember; as the 10% Far Right, we have an incredible loyalty to Mr. Trump. For example, we are far more loyal then most Republicans in Congress. Sometimes that loyalty leads to our "choosing to not see" some the problems he is currently experiencing, at least in the minds of the other 90% of Americans.

35% will always hate him, but the others are ready to be brought back into the fold, if the proper tactics are used.

That said, perhaps more then anyone else, we want him to succeed and know there are steps he can take to ensure his success. Newt describes them better than anyone.

What is Gingrich proposing Trump do, exactly?

When you step on the toes of DC’s entrenched ideology and greed, they will attack you, fiercely. I see no way to avoid the fight, unless you become Jeb Bush.

I don’t see how he can have a stable presidency with so many evil people, including his own party, out to destroy him. What he has done for the economy alone should have already given him amazing coverage. The game has changed.

Like I have said all along. The position we find ourselves in was easily predictable a year ago. I even posted as much back then. The Rats are willing to do whatever it takes to neuter him and the GOPe is willing to play along. As much as it pains me to point this out, in the historical record there have been leaders who have found themselves in similar situations and have succesfully overcome these very same obstacles. I won’t mention any names.

It seems a bit presumptuous for Gingrich to think Trump even WANTS a "stable presidency," whatever that means.

I also think it's a real stretch to think Trump can do anything to get Republicans in line. The recent ObamaCare vote in the Senate told us everything anyone needed to know about where the GOP stands.

As a business analyst, I often ask “stupid” questions that turn out to not be so stupid. I don’t ask them to get the obvious answer. Rather, I ask them to get the business to go in a certain direction, mentally, that can get to the real information that we all need to face.

i.e. Trump is not a normal politician. He is using a different rule book. Time will tell if he is going to be more productive than if he plays the game “normally”.

There may be a method to his madness. The amazing success with North Korea was not accident.

Agreed, the difference is he only wants to help America in his 4-8 years, all other pols only want to help themselves for the rest of their lives.

The VJ Machine is fully capable of taking out any Politician they want.
Until, the DOJ starts putting people in prison, this will not change in any foreseeable future.

Too bad he does not have Newt as Speaker of the House to remind Congress of where they are all going if Trump goes down
Maybe they forgot there is one Ship of State and that the crew goes down with the Captain

We the people silent majority haven't had to figure out how to become “ ungovernable” by an unrepresentative entrenched class - but I’m sure we can figure it out

If Americans wanted a stable presidency, Hillary Clinton would have defeated Jeb Bush last November.

Many Freepers like Newt almost as much as he likes himself, but it becomes apparent why he’s not included in Trump’s administration.

Trump is not in trouble. The economy and stock market are good and large numbers of Americans aren’t dying in some foreign conflict he started.

Yep but NorKo doesn’t even get mentioned

The stupid obsession with his words is dominating the news. Even with ISLAMIC TERRORISM both yesterday and today.

Hey Newt, if you are concerned for President Trump you know how to reach him. Quit airing your concerns like a “Concern Troll” out in public reinforcing doubts that some people have.
