Former Speaker of the House and longtime Trump supporter Newt Gingrich is seriously worried about the future of Donald Trumps presidency.
Gingrich, who has consistently been one of Trumps most optimistic supporters, said Friday morning that Trump is more isolated than he realizes and needs to make serious changes if hes going to have a stable presidency.
I think hes in a position right now where hes much more isolated than he realizes, Gingrich said in an interview with Fox News Bill Hemmer. On the Hill, he has far more people willing to sit to one side and not help him right now, and I think that he needs to recognize that hes taken a good first step with bringing in General Kelly, but he needs to think about what has not worked. You dont get down to 35 percent approval and have people in your own party shooting at you and conclude that everythings going fine.
How many times have we had this conversation? It was John McCain, Gold Star families and Access Hollywood. Is this week that much different than the numerous other situations? Hemmer asked.
It is only different in that you go through little ground, little ground, little ground, and after a while you have enough different people pull back that you are in a qualitatively different position and right now, that if he wants to get his agenda enacted that if he wants get things done and have a presidency that is stable, he is going to have to have a couple of serious changes, Gingrich said.
I think The Art of the Comeback, which is a fascinating book that he wrote in 1997, is a really helpful reminder and he needs to think of what hasnt been working and what he will do that is more effective in the rest of the presidency.
I don't like the Bushes, Romney, Ryan or Rubio either, but I don't understand all the love some people here have for Rudy Giuliani and Chris Christie, both of whom are well to the Left of both Paul Ryan and Marco Rubio on just about every issue. For instance, on immigration, they're probably on the same page as Jeb Bush if not even worse.
They have always been. They are afraid that the media will call then racists, or mean spirited. They are moral and physical cowards. They have no principles or moral compass. They are worse than the Democrats. At least the Democrats believe in something. Our destruction.
If the latest headlines are true, it appears as though the conflict among different ideological voices in the WH is being resolved, but not in a good way (with Bannon out and Sessions marginalized, the establishment and the liberals are coming out ahead).
Remind me when Newt was president. I guess I have OldTimer’s.
natering nabobs one and all. nothing has changed at the White House; the only thing that has changed is the enemedia is in full-howl mode again.
the same weak sisters that attacked and abandoned trump after the locker room tape are at it again, simply because of the enemedia howl, a howl that WILL NEVER GO AWAY AS LONG AS TRUMP IS IN OFFICE!
Impeachment is checkmate in 3D chess.
I’m sorry, but I disagree.
The President has serious problems. His base is still strong, but his long term MOV ratings are down and descending, even with the Korea bump.
He can fix the problem, but HE must, if he wants to.
I hated to raise this, but the best intelligence and prognostication service there ever is or was are the major betting houses in the UK / Commonwealth countries.
Right now, they are accepting bets at about even odds that Mr. Trump leaves office by the end of the year. Remember, the odds are set by the flow of wagered money, not by what someone “thinks.”
I know that sounds ridiculous to us, but there is serious smart money about even on both sides of such an outcome. BTW, most betters backing the “leaving” side see him just getting fed up with all the BS and resigning. Not an impeachment, but a “FU DC” from the president.
Again, sounds like BS to us, but when people (many from the US) are “putting their serious money where their mouth is” on a departure, it’s something I hate, but also something to ponder.
Seriously, dude, where are you?
We’re waiting for the spin on this.
Yup. As long as Sessions refuses to arrest bad guys, the swamp rats will continue to destroy our Republic.
This is not a time for slogans.
There is serious uncertainty on the land, and the president needs to fix it. Only he can. Lack of stability leads to fears for safety.
Look at how close to limited presumptive strikes the paranoid Soviets were in the last 2 months of the (supposedly) drunk Nixon administration.
The Body Politic can accept good news from it’s leaders (Osama achieving room temperature or stock market up). They can accept bad news ( 9/11 or the stock market down).
It’s the uncertainty that kills support.
You are seriously deranged. Sorry, but that’s about the best I can classify what you’re pumping out here.
How quickly you forget what those same UK odds makers were predicting for last November’s elections. They were predicting a Trump loss by 90% against 10%.
I won over $1000 dollars betting against those odds makers on November 8th.
You’re buying the bilge being pumped out by our Leftist media.
You’re flat out wrong.
Like McKhan, Blewt often thinks he’s president and everyone else should answer to him.
He never knows when to put a sock in it.
First two years of draining the swamp will be rough. Primarily from the smell of these ole gators. The second two years will be much better as some of the corruption will have been expunged. And if we get another 4 years, it could be spectacular.
He told him to figure out what is not working and change that.
Have a great day
I hope I am wrong, but I’m not “pumping out” anything.
The fact that you and I hate the facts does not change them.
Things have to change in the WH, or I’m afraid Newt and Ladbrokes will both be right.
Pray for better days tomorrow.
Totally agree.
Bingo
BINGO!
WELL SAID.
Is there anyone left in the Trump administration that hasn't been trashed one way or another by folks around here?
