Officials at the Gettysburg National Military Park said Wednesday that the monuments at the expansive Pennsylvania battlefield will stay despite unrest over Confederate memorials.
"These memorials, erected predominantly in the early and mid-20th Century, are an important part of the cultural landscape," battlefield spokeswoman Katie Lawhon told the Hanover Evening Sun.

I received an ad for a Civil War game in my email. We are in such a lunatic place right now I thought, maybe I should get it before it’s banned!
“We are in the middle of an odd kind of coup. It reminds me of the early nazis in Germany.”
Organized and funded by Soros, dnc and the shadow govt. The fakestream media are goosesteppers for the dnc.
Too bad we have a nutless, deepstate rat basterd, like jeff sessions, as AG.
I went to Gettysburg College which is where I found my husband (Yes, I got my MRS degree :))
One day, it was almost dark and we decided to drive through the battlefields. I can’t remember exactly where, but the road was very windy and it was very wooded. Anyway, there was a stature at the end of a curve we were approaching. It started glowing. We stopped our conversation and kept driving toward it. We slowly came up to it and I looked up and saw the stature looking towards the way that we had come from. I said, “Oh, it’s just a statue”, but it kept glowing this bright light. The next day, I convinced him to drive back to where the statue was, and not only was the color of the statue a darkish gray, but the statue was pointed (staring) in the opposite direction!
I’ve heard many other stories from fellow students, but that’s the only one that I witnessed.
The question is, why are we allow intellectual dwarfs to dictate to us?
The thread made me remember Haunted History from a time that the History Channel was good.
Then they went to Charlottesville.
There are many monuments there erected by Southern States for their honored dead.

Next will be the crosses off the churches ....
If they succeed in getting statues taken down, there is no telling where it will lead.
Americans need to gather, and stand up to this nonsense!!!
This monument of Robert E. Lee at Gettysburg is spectacular. The entire park is unforgettable.
The information from the marker at the Angle may not be accurate. The 26th may not have been in front of Onleys gun, but rather some ways to the north, in front of the 12th New Jersey. The 26ths final color bearer of the day, accompanied by a sergeant, carried the 26ths colors up the slope to the stone wall defended by the Jerseymen, who in respect for their courage held their fire and helped them to safety over the wall.Since then a dispute has raged between partisans of North Carolina and Virginia over whose charge went farthest on July 3rd. There will probably never be an answer, if one is really needed. But one fact is without question no regiment on either side at Gettysburg suffered more casualties than the 26th North Carolina.
Both sides will not feel that way when they get through with the Civil War reminders, they will move on to the other wars. NO Veteran sites are hallowed to these creatures. Whole different class of Humans if you can call them that. SICK STUFF
Well, they had better have the battlefield well guarded. Those leftist hyenas will not hesitate to attack the monuments at night, with sledge hammers and/or explosives. There are surely some traitors in the Gburg area who’d be happy to look the other way.
Neither do I. My great-grandfather was a Union Infantry volunteer at Gettysburg and came through it unscathed. But I admire some of the Reb generals. My favorite Confed. General is not Lee, but Longstreet. There’s a statue of him at Gburg, placed around the time of the movie “GETTYSBURG”..
I agree. It’s a sad state of affairs but the people making trouble are without the historical perspective. In the removal of what they hate so much will not affect the prospects for their lives in a positive manner. In fact they may ultimately mark themselves for the kind treatment they so detest in that which they seek to destroy. All the while they are becoming the emdoiment of that which they protest. There seems to be a great deal of ignorance present in their number.
I doubt for the most of them on a individual one on one they could have a coherent conversation on any of the subjects they are protesting.
It’s a problem for sure.
The Civil War amendments were written to centralize Federal power enough so that slavery could be made illegal. Now that slavery is gone and most of the racial discrimination practices have ended it’s time to repeal those amendments. The centralized power they give to Washington is used by the left way beyond what those amendments were meant to remedy. If a convention of states is ever convened those amendments plus the 16th and 17th should be repealed.
That’s one of my issues with immigration. They don’t have ancestors who found in the CW or WWs. Or Korea or VN. If you have that in your ancestry, you are much more likely to appreciate your country and those who make sacrifices.
Especially considering the youthful ages and that the overwhelming majority were white men, usually from modest families
The War was over when Stonewall was killed.
Just imagine how short the Insurrection would have been had Lee accepted the command of the United States Army. It would not have taken him two years.
Sessions is doing well in an impossible situation. We need to be concerned about the gutless Republicans not Jeff Sessions. It is refreshing to see someone enforce the laws no matter what the Clueless believe.
