A van has been involved in a "massive crash" in the city centre of Barcelona, with "several" injured.
Police said a white van mounted the pavement and struck several people.
Pictures from the scene show emergency services and civilians attending to at least two people on the ground.
The Ministry of the Interior said on Twitter: "There has just been a massive trampling on the Ramblas in Barcelona by a person with a van. There are injured."

The media probably hates this, not because it’s a violent terrorist act, but because it pulls focus from their talking points memo that Trump must be a racist Nazi war criminal because he only strongly condemned the Charlottesville attack rather than super, strongly condemned it... or something.

Islamic State has claimed it carried out the deadly attack in Barcelona, according to the group’s Amaq news agency.
In a statement, it said: “The perpetrators of the Barcelona attack are soldiers of the Islamic State and carried out the operation in response to calls for targeting coalition states.”

TVE and La Vanguardia newspaper are reporting that Driss Oukabir handed himself in to police in Ripoll, Girona, after seeing his own photo in the media.
He reportedly explained to officers that his identity documentation, which was apparently found inside the van used in the attack, had been stolen. Both sites claim he accused his younger brother of taking the documentation.
The rented vehicles were hired in his name.
Police are currently investigating whether his explanation is correct.
Oukabir is an anti-Semite with a rap sheet, and he’s blaming his younger brother for stealing and selling his, Driss’s, ID. Guess we’ll have to wait to see if any of Driss Oukabir’s DNA shows up in that van.
CNN is not the only one. Even Fox Business is talking about the similarity of the attacks and asking “what can be done?” Other FReepers can chime in, but I bet all the networks are linking the attacks, either directly or by comparison. The MSM is in full incite the violence and blame Trump mode.
Who else? Probably trying to preserve a statue of Robert E. Lee, the fascist.
Now they’re tying this to a house that “blew up” last night in Tarragona. They think that the plan was to load up the van with explosives, but when the terrorists accidentally detonated the explosives in the house last night, they decided just to go ahead with the van attack. It’s better than nothing, right?
One person in the house was killed, and the other is in custody but in the hospital. However, the police should know more about this soon.
