If I was in a similar situation, seeing what was ahead of me and being attacked, I would have backed out at high speed. But in the heat of the moment, going forward would not be a bad idea. Don't know what he saw.

He has a great defense, with video showing him being attacked

Why was he driving toward those people to begin with?

At this point, even if the guy is fully cleared, it won’t matter. The left and the faithless Republicans (just about all of them) will still have the knives out for President Trump. Fortunately he is a strong guy who is unlikely to give up.

I hope he considers running as an independent in 2020 — even if they impeach and convict him.

Another thing to take into consideration is that the Challenger is really crap for rear visibility. High shoulders, high back, very slanted rear window. It may also have played a factor in the move forward vs. back-up action.

I don’t think any jury will find the driver guilty of murder 2. I’m not sure any conviction can be got. Two years from now, when this goes to trial, the states attorney will offer involuntary manslaughter with a sentence recommendation of 2 years in prison equal to time served, and with so many years probation. Then, the states attorney will drop probation if there’s any resistance to try to get an admission of guilt and prevent the trial focusing on the Democrat Governor’s order to law enforcement to stand down and allow the riot to run its course.

Exactly -- which destroys any possible justification for a guy plowing forward into a crowd of people and mowing them down. Why was he driving down that street in the first place where a protest is going on?

This is goin gto be an intriguing trial.

I'm sure evidence that his car was being attacked—before he accelerated and before any collision occurred—will be admitted.

I wonder if any evidence of his political views will be admissible? Should the jury be allowed to know if the defendant harbored "Supremacist" views, for instance?
