Why was he driving toward those people to begin with?
At this point, even if the guy is fully cleared, it won’t matter. The left and the faithless Republicans (just about all of them) will still have the knives out for President Trump. Fortunately he is a strong guy who is unlikely to give up.
I hope he considers running as an independent in 2020 — even if they impeach and convict him.
There's a good possibility that he was driving through an unfamiliar area while being chased and harassed by people.
There are a number of video clips from Saturday showing leftist losers attacking motorists around Charlottesville simply for having out-of-state license plates on their cars.
Ten bucks says the prosecutor in this case is going to end up on his knees, begging the perpetrator to accept a plea deal for a public littering charge and a $25 fine ... just so the prosecutor doesn't have to go to trial in a case that he's unlikely to win at all.
Ever make a wrong turn? I suspect he didn’t know at first if the crowd was friend or foe. Regardless, I am starting to doubt the narrative.
“Why was he driving toward those people to begin with?”
No one but the driver really knows, but it is possible that after the Virginia State Police ordered his group to leave, he was trying to leave. Charlottesville has lots of narrow, one way streets, inadequate parking, and all sorts of places for pedestrians to suddenly pop up that can be difficult enough under normal conditions. Someone from out of town might have made bad choices on where to park or turn, and found themselves trapped by the crowd. Would be interesting to trace the driver’s route from wherever the car was parked to the injury location.
He was on a road. Pretty simple to me.
I think this guy was 'set off' in a road rage like manner...but it should not at all be astonishing that he was driving down a road. The unusual aspect was the crowd of people surrounding the cars on the road.
As far as I know he’s allowed to drive on roads. The crowd swarmed him and hit his car with objects and he probably feared for his life. I would run over protesters attacking my car in an extremely violent way.
