Conservatives and moderates: It's time to stop giving to your alma mater
Fox News ^ | August 12, 2017 | Marissa Streit

Many of our country’s most cherished institutions of higher learning are shadows of what they once were. And if you’re a college graduate, that probably includes your alma mater.

A survey by the Higher Education Research Institute at UCLA found that a staggering 60 percent of university professors identified as “liberal” or “far-left” in 2014 – up from 42 percent in 1990. But interviews conducted in 17 separate Gallup polls in 2016 that found that 70 percent of Americans consider themselves either conservative (36 percent) or moderate (34 percent).

In colleges across the country, far-left professors now dominate disciplines like English literature, sociology, and history. Few have anything positive to say about capitalism, the Constitution or the United States in general.

As a result, many colleges have become ground zero for propagating every extreme idea the far left can imagine. And they want your money to help them do it. Lots of it.

To help them spread propaganda, colleges are regularly sending out fundraising letters and emails. From time to time, you may have donated or even made your gift as a regular monthly contribution. Some alumni donate small (or not-so-small) fortunes and have buildings named after them.

Wherever you find yourself on the continuum of funding university-sponsored indoctrination, please understand that you’re very likely financing institutions that oppose your values.

Consider supporting Jordan Peterson on Patrone.com

He’s fighting a good fight against the cultural Marxists. Check out some of his YouTube talks on the subject.

I stopped giving to The Citadel when they stopped playing Dixie at every touchdown. At our 50th reunion the class always gets to chose the song they want at halftime. Dixie was turned down.

And this is the school that fired the first shots of the Civil War - go figure!!

Haven’t given for years and years since Penn led the way in PC by trying to throw a kid off campus as a racist because he called a bunch of noisy students who were interrupting his studies (and turned out to be black females) “water buffalos”......

"A survey by the Higher Education Research Institute at UCLA found that a staggering 60 percent of university professors identified as “liberal” or “far-left” in 2014..."

I worked in education and heard too many teachers and administrators of the radical left lie to say that they were conservative. Before that, decades ago, I saw young men with prior service being pushed to drop out (including being told by instructors to leave classes) by an instructor, who was also the Kansas State N.O.W. President. Many university instructors wouldn't hesitate to lie in a survey for the purpose of getting more tuitions from conservative families.

Young people, you can do very well without a college education and the disgusting brainwashing that comes with it. Lifetime self-education is easy now. If you want power and wealth in the near future, toughen up and smarten up by learning and practicing technologies--especially low technologies.

I bailed when the alumni mag put Plame on the cover, and buried an article profiling Michael in the back.

I have given my peoples' republic of U.C. Davis a.m. precisely zero in 40 years.

(I might increase that my 10% this year, ha ha ha.)

After moving to live near PSU in the late 90’s, I discovered it had become a hard left Marxist organization that required indoctrination and feared free thought and speech. It is my opinion that, the university's ground be best plowed, and salted and that every brick and stone be taken from every building until there there is no more.

This is the result the Marxists at that University desire, so let it be!

Ha. They dominate every department.

The Schools of Pure and Applied Science were in the past pure. However today in relationship to Global Warming they have beccome politically corrupt.

I well remember one on my research projects that I thought was most brilliant. I was wrong and discarded it. However, I did discovery things during the research that did lead me to some most interesting discoveries in clay chemistry and cation base exchange. I did not publish but others did the same research later and did.

The point of this is the original global warming precepts and computer models have failed, but the warmists still insist they are right. They have abandoned true scientific research. One must first define the hypothesis and then validate it. If one can not validate it with scientific facts it is worthless as many thousands of hypotheses in the past were worthless.

One can not modify the original hypothesis if it is wrong. One can define a new hypothesis and must then use all new data to validate the new hypothesis. You do not have the luxury to pick and choose your data. All the data must be Incorporated into your new hypothesis as the former hypothesis is dead and gone. Today science is corrupt if it has anything that is political in the research.

“No body can wreck a company faster that a Harvard grad. “

For a number of years, I worked for a well-known Silicon Valley Co. The Sr. VP was a Harvard alum, so he brought in what we called HMBA’s (Harvard MBA’s). Most of them could not walk and chew gum at the same time, but management listened to them, better than then did those of us in sr. mgmt. One day my boss was so frustrated that he came to me and said: “We should all quit and come back on board as “consultants!” We would be paid twice what we’re being paid, and they would actually listen to us! Plus we would avoid all these hair-brained ideas that the HMBAs have!”

Stopped giving to my Ivy League alma mater years ago, but every once in a while they do something that makes me wish I were still giving so I could send an angry letter saying why I am stopping.

I only give a token amount so as to increase my odds of legacy admission for my children. Once the last one is in college, I’m done.

There isn’t a university that isn’t already extremely overpaid. Who is their right mind would simply give them more??

Graduate & Professional Degree ping.

To be added to (or dropped from) this occasional ping list, freepmail Albion Wilde.

My undergrad school fought to remain a single-sex institution in the 80s; but last year decided to admit transsexuals, even though they do not have a big endowment with which to manage social experimentation and the risk of lawsuits from the inevitable microaggressions. No donations for you!

My Ivy League graduate university has behaved absolutely abominably throughout the campaign and Trump's presidency. No shekels for you, either!

You could send them an angry letter saying “THIS is a reminder of why I don’t expect to donate ever again!” I do that from time to time and it feels good.
