Heather Heyer came to downtown Charlottesville with her friends to make a stand against white nationalists who converged on the Virginia college town to demand the city keep a statue honoring a Confederate war hero, her boss said on Sunday.
The 32-year-old paralegal wanted to send a clear message to the neo-Nazis and Ku Klux Klan sympathizers who planned to stage one of the largest far-right rallies in recent U.S. history that people abhor their views in the city where she was born, he said.
But her decision to join counter-protesters on Saturday resulted in tragedy when a 20-year-old Ohio man drove his car at high speed into a line of marchers, killing Heyer and injuring at least 19 others.
A strong sense of social justice was a constant theme in Heyer's personal and working life, said Alfred Wilson, bankruptcy division manager at the Miller Law Group.
"There have been times that I've walked back to her office and she had tears in her eyes" for various injustices she saw in the world, said Wilson, such as the time she was weeping after reading anti-Muslim comments online, Wilson said.

Heyer was a supporter of Bernie Sanders, who ran unsuccessfully for the Democratic presidential nomination won by Hillary Clinton, Wilson said.
As a white woman, she thought it unfair that she enjoyed liberties that Wilson, as a black man, did not, he said.

What’s the point? Uncontrolled passion can mislead anybody. Left or right.
Was this girl one of the militants?
The press is making her out to be an innocent bystander at a riot.
She seems to have been a hanger-on. Mostly driven by passion rather than plan. Even what she whacked (the car rather than its driver) shows that she had some ambivalence left. If we had to have SJWs, this kind is a lot easier to deal with. Unfortunately she died when far more malicious, and cunning, souls lived.
Antifa is virulently anti semitic and advocates purging jews from society.
I've not had opportunity to use GPS driver guides.
What I do like is Google Maps with satellite view.
I can zoom in and out, check surrounding roads (in, and out, and if I miss a turn -- how to recover) before heading to some address in locations I'm not familiar with.
Pulling over and studying the nav problem prior to getting in the middle of one, helps. It also helps to have a laptop with roving internet access, instead of just a smart (ass?) phone.
Google maps on smartphones is GPS based. You can ask it to show you where the GPS seems to indicate your vehicle to be.
You are partially correct but the true answer to the question is contained in the guiding principal of the socio anarchist movement, “ The issue is never the issue. The issue is always the revolution.”
There are plenty of useful idiots the rhetoric is just the agitprop used to inflame the idiots to fight the revolution..
#2 Update: Dead drama queen. She most have loved the Palestinian terrorist knife slaughter of a Jewish family celebrating a good event in their lives. Killed the father and young daughter or mother and young daughter before being killed by an armed neighbor.
As we say in French about people like her and Rachel Corrie (aka the Human Pancake), it’s all about “Location, Location, and Timing” which for her was “Bad, Very Bad and Fatally Bad”.
Let her friends properly mourn her. I wont’. I’ve lost too many decent people/relatives lately to be concerned about one of life’s loser.
One of many mad movements, often inimical to others and/or to helpful elements in mankind.
It’s easy for you to strut around with a superior air. Yet the people you flout happen to be in the less troublesome segment of trouble makers.
Take on some bigger trouble makers big boy.
Tune in next week for further adventures of
Social Justice Warrior Quex!
You folks laugh at little trouble makers because you can’t do squat about the big ones.
Been taking on “bigger trouble makers” since that late 1960’s including the Weathermen, Progressive Labor Party, Socialist Workers Party (I offered one of their leaders free flying lessons, from the 8th floor of a building. He wisely decided to take up parachuting instead), PLO operatives, KGB operatives, a Black Panther cop killer, Liberty Lobby, and some groups you’ve never heard of.
That’s why I was invited to brief the No. 3 leader of the FBI. Had a nice lunch in an old style diner(leather bench seats in their booths, with a view of the strip joints right next to the old FBI headquarters. It was called “ambience”.
Didn’t see your ass in Nam when I was questioning VC and NVA defectors. I had respect for them because they were fighters, not complainers.
Yeah, I figured that, but I do prefer use of landmarks, crossroad & land features, etc., to always know "about" where I'm most likely at (if not being able to keep track of exactly).
That's a big help, I'm sure. Still love hard-copy maps, the trucking oriented Atlas and Gazetteer in particular. If provided location where I'm likely at -- if using a hand held device, or dashboard GPS, if I could zoom out to class A road level (major streets, and of course highways and Interstates) then orientation would be a breeze. Most the time.
Being handicapped (no GPS) since I have to remember what I see when studying maps, pre-trip (which is something I've always enjoyed) sometimes I'll jot down names of key crossroads, exit numbers along the way, --whatever can be used as cross fix to be employed as I would 'go along' with one line of any cross being the road I would be on that I should know name of.
That part can be a little dicey if having made a wrong turn, and the signage is not up to snuff.
What helps the most is distrusting myself to get it right.
That compels to study-up where crossroads go, and how to maybe get back on intended route. Going over it, setting in mind what roads go where (off to the sides of the route) what those road names are, helps identify them. Drawing out crude maps by hand can help, but in my own experience have not always been enough. That helps keep me distrusting myself, so compels studying the maps all that much harder when having opportunity to.
I used GPS on the water, and Nav programs too, so have some understanding of how the system works. A long time ago I used Loran C -- and even Loran A a little, but the latter was being superseded by 'C' by the time I got into the wheelhouse in capacity that it would need be myself who would need know where I was at beyond visual and radar.
Ever heard of 'coon-ass navigation'? That's where offshore of Louisiana, a guy can use an Oil and Mineral Block chart (that's probably not the just right name for charts of that type, but should serve as part of present attempt of explanation) drive the boat near enough to an oil platform, or satellite rig -- read the number and abbreviation for what 'block' -- and there you be -- within a square mile or so.
The Left is always trying to increase its power. Whites get the short end of the stick because we don’t fight back and we have some assets that they can steal.
This woman was a moron and an ass. Good riddance for normal society
Someone get her a Rachel Corrie award fast
You beat me to it
