Others have video of before hand and his car was being struck by bats and bricks. I’d probably have shot a few of them myself.

Video in #8 shows the car slowly rolling down the street when a guy with a bat on the left side steps off the walk, swings and takes out the driver side taillight. Then the car understandably accelerates. Driver might possibly been looking behind him to see who hit the car, who knows. He was attacked even though driving slowly thru the crowded area and hadn't come near anyone. Other videos show his brake lights on just before he hit the crowd.
