CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA Attorney General Jeff Sessions issued a statement Saturday indicating a federal investigation has been opened into the events surrounding the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. Sessions, who had already condemned the violence and any message of hate and intolerance as events were unfolding, delivered the following statement as the dust settled in the home of the University of Virginia:
The violence and deaths in Charlottesville strike at the heart of American law and justice. When such actions arise from racial bigotry and hatred, they betray our core values and cannot be tolerated. I have talked with FBI Director Chris Wray, FBI agents on the scene, and law enforcement officials for the state of Virginia. The FBI has been supporting state and local authorities throughout the day. U.S. Attorney Rick Mountcastle has commenced a federal investigation and will have the full support of the Department of Justice. Justice will prevail.

I don’t see a mass uprising happening against Mueller either. Sessions and Rosenstein have a lot to answer for. Shame on the two of them.

Rosenstein has taken Deep State’s “guidance” for quite some time. IMO, that makes him dirty.
Re: Sessions: I’m unsure if he was a trojan horse from the start, or if Deep State got to him via threats towards his children & grandchildren (as former presidential candidate Herman Cain has stated was done to him when he withdrew). The reasons behind his captitulation are irrelevant to me as actions are what I’m interested in observing.
(And then there is Session’s aggressive stance on the blatantly unconstitutional abomination known as Asset Forfeiture. But don’t get me started on that!)
Are you privy to Sessions’ in house communications, to the small number he trusts?
No?
In that case, you don’t know squat what Sessions is up to or not up to.

My read on Sessions is, not too bright. For all the years he was in DC, it’s incredible that he had no clue as to how the Deep State works.
Case in point. He blabbed something to the Russian ambassador. On his security clearance application, he stated that he’d done no such thing.
Meanwhile the ambassador made a full report of the disclosures to the Kremlin. The NSA recorded that call. When the time was right to maximally harm Trump, they let Sessions know the recording existed. Loose Lips Jeff recused himself immediately.
How could a bright person not have seen this coming? Did Sessions just fall off the turnip truck the day before Trump appointed him AG??
What a fiasco.
Maybe Sessions was in on it.
I would hate to think so. Otoh, such an explanation doesn’t depict Sessions as totally clueless and inept, so there’s that.
Either way, Sessions threw Trump to the wolves. The AG could have been Trump’s best weapon against the swamp. Instead, Sessions became the swamp’s bff.
Tragic.
Exactly! There is a conditioned response within the Swanp to have knee jerk reactions to head line events and jump all over them to avoid doing their jobs. The Congress is by far the worst offender. Is goes all the way back to warbrobe malfunction at the Super Bowl and beyond. It also recurs on an annual basis usually with little or no remedial action. Its only purpose is to give cover for wasting time and doing nothing. Unfortunately Sessions is a swamp creature.
Interesting take, and certainly plausible.
Going with that....Now that it’s been spelled out to him, why does he still characterize Rosenstein as “a really good guy”? Is he still that blind? If so, we’re getting into single digit I.Q. territory now.
(As far as Asset Forfeiture goes, do you think he might be that stupid as not to understand that asset forfeiture is the same thing as the Constitutionally-prohibited Bills of Attainder?)
Let me throw another tidbit your way. The helicopter was covering the Governor’s motorcade as he coming into the city for a photo op. A few have said something happened to the tail roter and the chopper spun out of control.
Judge allows Unite the Right rally to stay in Emancipation Park
To take your post in reverse order. My impression is that Sessions is not a Deep Thinker. Another impression is that he believes in the righteousness of the War on Drugs. I.e.: he sees himself as saving America by cracking down on marijuana.
If those impressions are correct, then Sessions doesn’t look at civil asset seizures through a constitutional lens. Rather, he sees it as a major tool in the WoD. Therefore, in his mind it is Good. It is part of Saving America.
That is my take, fwiw.
Re Rosenstein. I had dug up and posted a Breitbart article that claimed Sessions particularly lobbied Trump to make Rosenstein his Deputy AG. If that’s true, then Sessions’ judgement is at stake when it comes to Rosensteins appointment of Mueller. I.e.: for Sessions to turn on Rosenstein would establish him as a poor judge of people and character. That in turn would unsuit him for a job as crucial as AG
For Sessions, it’s probably far easier to wear blinkers and pretend that all is well. After all, that’s what works in the Senate. For years the country was going down the drain, but Sessions’ position was that if he opposed illegal immigration, all was well.
By all appearances, being in the Senate for decades ruins a person. They instinctively take the safe route, and appear incapable of implementing major, decisive action. As someone noted, Sessions is Trump’s biggest mistake. Let’s hope he can recover from it.

But where is the investigation into BLM?
You are joking, right?
Being sarcastic.

I understand.
BINGO..!! Now your making sense... That bag of dirt needs to be made accountable for all the trouble he's caused with his money... We need to scoop this POS up and turn him over to one of those countries that wants to hang him...
