Here’s Who Could Replace McConnell As Senate Majority Leader
Daily Caller ^ | 8/10/17 | Thomas Phippen

Posted on 08/11/2017 9:54:41 AM PDT by Maceman

Should Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell step down from the top position in Congress, Republicans will be looking for someone savvy enough to accomplish a difficult legislative to-do list and trusted by the president.

President Donald Trump has not held back in his repeated criticisms of McConnell. Trump blames him for failing to repeal Obamacare in the first six months that Republicans controlled both the Congress and the presidency.

A Senate majority leader under Trump has a difficult job of working to pass complex legislation, including Obamacare repeal, immigration reform, tax reform and a massive infrastructure spending bill, in a sharply-divided chamber with a slight majority. All without attracting the ire of the commander in chief.

Here are seven senators that could be tapped to lead the caucus in the unlikely event McConnell steps down or retires:

Step down? Retire? When hell freezes over. Kentucky will elect him and the ruinos will keep him even if the have to pickle the old bastard and shove a steel rod up his ass to keep him sitting up.

Sickening swine.

McConnell has done more than I expected. He seems to be trying to keep Trump happy, without doing the things required to control his caucus with an iron hand, the way Harry Reid did. In part, it’s because he has a more difficult caucus than the Democrats, but he could be doing more by threatening money, committee positions, reelection support, etc.

Cornyn is even worse. What a slimy sack of shxx. He is proof you can stack crap high without it falling over. You cant disguise a slimy pettifogging lawyer in a fancy suit.

It is true, you can get 10 pounds of cat crap in in a 5 pound bag. In this case a suit and tie.

The whole gang is from the RUINO clan and stupid party. The only bed reason so far to vote for them is they arent RATS.

Nothing but swine.

The job of the Senate Majority Leader is to manage and influence his members.

I do not see Cornyn having that skill set.

It is not complicated to repeal obamacare. Pass a positive law to repeal the obamacare law and specify repeal of the provisions of several other laws that were passed at the same time that were additive to obamacare.

Why not pass a law that simply in one paragraph repeals everything passed in Congress between the Januarys of 2008 and 2017?

Yep. Thune may not be the most conservative, but is conservative enough to be realistically electable.

I had a friend who was a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. His specialty was baby coons. Loggers would cut down trees with nests, etc. & he’d end up with them. If they were really small, he’d carry them around in a pet crate so they could be bottle fed at the proper times. There’s not much cuter than a baby coon .... and then they grow up. His coons all got rabies shots. He had an outdoor pen for them and when time to release into the wild, he’d just leave the door open - they’d come and go for a while, then disappear. His favorite coon came back one time with a baby in tow, just to visit I guess. He never saw her again after that.

We have big, fat old coon that I call “Ricky” who has been getting into our trash - the rascal can pry off the tops that I even have trouble prying off sometimes. I put on “Ricky wraps” (rope/bungee cords to hold the tops on) & although I see his footprints on the can tops & we catch him on the game cam every couple of days, he’s been thwarted so far, but I can see an unhappy ending for Ricky if he keeps getting into trouble.

It is a source of constant amazement to me the low quality of both intelligence and morality of what appears to be the majority of Republican congresscritters, and virtually all of the dimbulbcrat congresscritters.

I respecteth their institutions not.

I like it. I use “Swampsters”, as well, but RUINOS is more meaningful.

Barasso is the only acceptable one in the list. The rest are Swamp RINOs little different from Mitch.

> McConnell? He just enjoys being in “the club,” playing defense, and going with the [Democrat] flow.

That’s it exactly. 100%

And there is nothing complex about repealing ACA.

Because as we have recently found out, the Republicans actually agree with most everything Obama did.

John Cornyn, Thad Cochran, Lindsey Graham, Orrin Hatch, Chuck Grassley, Shelley Moore Capito, John Barrasso

We'd do better with Charlie Sheen than Lindsay Graham, Orrin Hatch et al.
