Take a flat sheet of foil 10x10 and solder a wire to one corner. Take a sheet of wax paper 11x11 and lay it on top centered. Now take another sheet of foil 10x10 with a wire soldered to the opposite corner and lay it on top centered. Roll the assembly into a tight roll and tape closed.

Makes a dandy capacitor.

It also makes a nice shim for precision alignment, given its fairly precise .001” thickness. Also, it can be used to tell when a milling cutter is within .001” of the workpiece edge.
