While I think this "Pence is scheming against Trump to take the Presidency" news is just liberal media agit-prop to create dissention. Pence really has been a disappointment, pretty much just an empty suit that would rather hide in the trenches than risk get dirty or bloody fighting for the Trump Agenda. My view of him as a possibly future successor to Trump is rapidly declining, sort of George H.W. Bush v2.0...
The Democrats would eat Pence for lunch. Would take them about a week.
Pence is exactly what he always was: an astute politician who knows the landscape well but simply doesn't have the gravitas to win a presidential election. He has worked extensively behind the scenes with House and Senate members to move the president's agenda forward. That's the extent of his job and his capabilities, and there's no reason to be disappointed in him.
Part of the issue here is that he is the polar opposite of Donald Trump in so many ways. For this reason, you can't really have him spending a lot of time on the air carrying a message to the people. He is only a colossal disappointment because he's not Donald Trump (nobody is!), so it's best to keep him behind the scenes rather than confuse the message with the public.
