But Sunday, as he promoted his book on NBCs Meet the Press, Flake took his assault on Trumpism back years further all the way to the pre-dawn of Trumps political rise, to when the birtherism thing was going on, as Flake put it to host Chuck Todd.
Some people did stand up, but not enough, the senator said. That was particularly ugly.
Did you do enough? Todd asked.
Flake smiled. On that, I think I did.
Flake was a congressman in 2011, when Trump flirted with a presidential run against President Barack Obama.
The current president did so spouting all sorts of Four-Pinocchio innuendo that had long ago been debunked, as The Washington Post wrote at the time.
Trump wrote a letter to the editor in the New York Times, for example, advancing a host of bogus evidence against Obamas birth in the United States and, thus, his legitimacy to occupy the White House.

If you notice the band that tethers all these people attacking Trump - is they are fans of Hillary.
The dawn of Birtherism was Hillary’s campaign.
They loathe Trump, but they need their jobs - I know, I know - Trump’s not conservative enough for them, so they side with Chuck Schumer, Susan Collins, and Adam Schiff.
From Dana Perino to Glenn Beck - they love to claim their venom for Trump is because Trump isn’t “conservative” enough, but then you see them launching defenses of Hillary, Podesta, Donna Brazile.
Not hard to figure out the scam.

As Arlen Specter found out.
Is this guy already expecting a primary defeat, and polishing his nevertrump creds for future media gigs? I can see him as a Morning-schmoe in the making.
Speaking of dead Arlen, he and McCain will be joining him soon.
But not soon enough for me.
My only issue with Trump’s birtherism was his lack of follow through. It seems crystal clear that the long-form that supposedly “settled” the issue was a low-quality forgery.
It isn't an English word, it is French, and the only place in the world where it didn't mean "city dweller" was Switzerland.
The Word "Citizen" itself clearly demonstrates that Jefferson copied it's usage from Vattel. In 1776, the normal word to describe someone as a member of a nation state was "Subject."
At the time, no one used the word "Citizen" to mean member of a Nation State except for Switzerland, a Republic since 1370.
I agree, he’s getting ready to switch parties. McIsane is about to take the dirt nap and took most of the flak for the continued betrayals of conservatives by the Republican senators from Arizona. These two are as bad as the old hags from Maine at one point in time.
Flakes a total horses ass, just like his mentor McIsane.

Flake is in some real trouble. He is either not going to run for re-election or he is trying to lure several Trump supporting opponents into the primary race in order to split the Trump, anti-Flake vote and win with < 40%.
The Trump forces need to coalesce around 1 candidate.
The McCain camp had a couple fake Republicans run in the primary in order to split the anti-McCain vote & take votes away from Kelli Ward last year. As soon as the ballots were printed the one of the fakes dropped out of the race but his name still appeared on the ballot and he siphoned off Ward votes. McCain did win but with 51% of the vote, his smallest margin of victory ever.
Don’t know where bammy was born but his released bc is a forgery. Use of fraudulent ssn would make sense....
Most read story on WaPo as I posted this, after all of these years and in the comments, few readers question any of Obama’s lies. They just hammer Flake!
“Lets sum up whats about to happen here. Flake will run 3d party to throw the Senate seat to the democrats. “
I hadn’t thought of that. I assumed he was doing all of this to get the Rats to
cross over in the primary. I think you’re right if he loses the primary he’ll go 3rd party and give the seat to the Rats. Sheesh what a POS, he always was as bad as McTraitor.
Obama’s LFBC is more of a pro forma fabrication than a forgery. Originally Obama had no LFBC on record in HI. There are several eyewitness references to some handwritten notations in his file, but that’s all there was.
HI readily produced a Certificate of Live Birth based on the notations. The theory is that Obama’s grandma Dunham got those notations in his file by registering the birth (which had taken place in Canada) via nefarious means. Those records would pass muster if no one questioned or investigated them—and of course no one did.
Getting a LFBC wasn’t as easy. It had to include false information—for example, the home address. Stanley Ann wasn’t living there (or anywhere else in HI) at the time. Nevertheless, these types of informal, imprecise fabrications are routine. One is slapped together following an adoption, for instance. No one picks it apart and no one questions it.
In Obama’s case the fabrication was placed under a microscope. Anyone short of an Obot could see that it had been cut and pasted together. Not all the information on it matched what little had been contained in the handwritten notes, either. But thanks to Alinsky, the kneepad press and an online army of Obots, the issue went nowhere. That’s not to say we won’t get the truth in the long run. It just hasn’t come out publicly yet.
Hillary Clinton’s team first inserted the “birtherism” into the election. Strangely, it was a legitimate issue, as even the Honolulu Advertiser stated 0bama was not born in the US. It later amended their profile on then to be Illinois Senator 0bama during the 2008 presidential campaign. But I have a copy of it on my computer that I grabbed. 🙂

Flake is a popular man to hate but I do believe he is driven by his principles. Very unpopular principles. Likely to see him out on his ear but he does it anyway principles. I kinda respect that so I don’t join the dog pile.
But can’t seem to go back to Larry Sinclair or Donald Young. Too bad....
