WARMONGERING rhetoric is being spewed by Turkey towards Europe after a newspaper close to the Turkish regime declared the country could overrun Germany in three days.

Newspaper Yeni Söz, closely aligned to the government, made the outlandish claim on the front page of its daily newspaper.

Carrying the provocative headline "Turkey can occupy Europe within 3 days”, the move is the latest in a political spat between Ankara and Berlin.

Turkey has been vying to join the EU for more than a decade, with official negotiants to become a member dragging into their 12th year.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan attempted to use the migrant crisis as a bargaining chip, striking a deal with Brussels over the crisis in exchange for political sweeteners, which included kick-starting their membership bid.

You do have a point about Erdo Stalinizing his officer corps.

As for the Poles, good morale, but the units and leadership have probably been Natoized. And you have less than 80,000 soldiers with about 1000 tanks. The Turks have about 300,000 soldiers and about 2400 tanks.

As for tanks, the Poles have about 250 Leopards to the Turks 400 Leopards although the Poles are upgraded; after that it is upgraded T-72s against upgraded M-60s.

US Army Europe is a skeleton force with one combat brigade at Grafenwoehr, near Nuremburg and the headquarters at Wiesbaden. US Air Force Europe is down to one air base at Ramstein.

Yup - but we can very quickly flow forces in. We're pretty good at that stuff.

You'll be pleased to know that Carrier Battle Groups move pretty judiciously when required.

My prediction is the following:

As the refugee (99% Muslim) population grow problems will increase until at some point there is an insurrection over some “Islamic grievance “, the host (likely German!) government will back down. However the native European population finally pushed past their level of tolerance lash out against the refugees. The local European (probably German!) will crack down on its on native people. The natives appeal to the East for someone to come in and save European civilization. It will be Russia, Poland & maybe Hungary. It might just be Russia with Poland allowing a pass through! Then NATO will be officially dead! Do we let it die or do we intervene militarily to save NATO and save Europe for Islam? Quite a choice for us!

Unfortunately carrier battle groups will have a hard time sailing up the Rhine River or down the Weser from Bremerhaven to get to Central Germany. At least a number of our old kasernes are still sitting empty in various places such as 2 near Frankfurt that I use to be stationed at: Friedberg and Budingen

I was thinking more on the lines of sailing them to the Mediterranean and hitting their lines of communication, command, and control - as well as staging areas, dumps, infrastructure.

Just a mental exercise, mind you.

Ah, good point. I was thinking along the lines of Erdogan fostering an uprising of all the Turks and Muslims already living in Germany.

Lt. Col. Anthony Herbert wrote about Turkish Troops in Korea.

I read his book ‘Soldier’ back when I was still a teenager in the early 70s.

The world is going insane.

The only choice is to prepare oneself in all ways possible, and most importantly by getting right with one’s Maker.

Germans would rise to the challenge after a few defeats. Then it would be bad news for islamic people.Turks will learn a few important lessons. Trump would support the West the way Obama would not. The war is coming folks and it will be mean and nasty. Isis was like a warning—a wake up call. Such a war will at long last Unite Europe and a new leader will rise—a new Napoleon. It might be a woman this time—Maybe LePen?

Fair points. One would think it would be Turkey v. NATO as a whole, as well. Vienna and Lepanto spring to mind.
