The Russian lawyer whose June 2016 meeting with Donald Trump Jr. and other top Trump campaign officials has become a prime focus of the Russian election collusion probe is denying the meeting involved Hillary Clinton or the U.S. campaign, adding the congressional probes into the scandal are not interested in hearing her side of the story.
In a 10-minute interview on the Russian news program Vesti, Natalia Veselnitskaya said she sought the meeting as part of her efforts to help Russian businessman Denis Katsyv. . .
"It was a private meeting," Ms. Veselnitskaya told the interviewer, according to an account Friday in the Moscow Times. "I asked for help--help to get out a story I had come across in my professional capacity."
The meeting "had nothing to do with [then-candidate Donald Trump's] rivals or the presidential election," she added. "That never happened. That's not true.". . .
In the television interview, Ms. Veselnitskaya said her purpose in speaking to the Trump campaign was part of an effort to speak to "everyone who could provide any kind of support in the U.S. Congress" for her client's case.
She was harshly critical of William Browder. . ."The Russian government and Vladimir Putin were in effect coming to this meeting," Mr. Browder said.
But Ms. Veslenitskaya told the Russian news show the meeting was "innocent" and that Mr. Browder was running a "financial scam."
Mr. Veselnitskaya also complained that she had not been invited to testify at any of the hearings of the multiple House and Senate committees looking into the Trump-Russia collusion charges.
"They don't want the truth there at the moment. They need an enemy," she said. "Some because they are looking to undermine Trump, some because they want to fuel the conflict with Russia."

That’s weird, I’ve never seen the DeepStateMedia refer to Loretta Lynch’s secret meeting with former President Clinton as “fateful”.
Witch hunt.
Let’s call this what it is. It is a open-ended FISA warrent to eavesdrop electronically on all of the activities of the Trump Administration. It is the ultimate use of the U.S. intelligence apparatus to weaponize information against a political opponent. This is what they call a police state and all those involved need prison time.
It’s over Mueller, shut down this witch Hunt.

While that’s an excellent idea, she is lying through her teeth about that meeting. Her slam at Mr. Browder, whose lawyer was brutally murdered by Putin’s henchmen is a dead give away. The reason for the meeting was to lobby against the Magnitsky Act, a law that greatly restricts the ability of Putin and his fellow oligarchs from moving their money in and out of the United States.
Magnitsky was the name of the murdered lawyer.
Talk about a loaded headline!

So if she’s telling the truth it means that the British promoter guy is probably responsible for either lying or miscommunicating the reason for the meeting.

Is this something new? That an unknown wealthy Republican donor first funded the dossier? The Koch Brothers? Any other possibilities from the Republican donor side?
Following the initial blowback from Trump Jr.’s contradictory statements, Veselnitskaya told NBC News last month that she never had any damning information about Clinton but that it’s possible Trump Jr. desired it and that’s why he took the meeting.
“It is quite possible that maybe they were longing for such an information,” she said. “They wanted it so badly that they could only hear the thought that they wanted.”
Is it possible Rob Goldstone dangled a promise of Clinton info via email in order to get Trump, Jr. to agree to the meeting, while telling Veselnitskaya the meeting was going to be about the Magnitsky Act?

The Republican donor info has been out since early this year, but I haven’t seen anyone reveal who the donor was yet. I speculated it was the Koch Brothers as well on an earlier post, based on a meeting they had called that summer to audition Presidential candidates, plus the fact they weren’t Trump supporters; others suggested Romney. If I recall correctly, during the time frame under consideration, Jeb Bush and Rubio were the favored front-runners of the GOP establishment.
