Two years ago (July 2015), when Trump visited Laredo, he declared that he was aware the there would not be a wall across the entire border with Mexico...that at some places there would be a patrolled fence, at some a patrolled natural border like a river, at some places technology would be used to prevent passage.
Years ago...Hillary described a Wall along the border as a fence. I’ll try and find it.
