That depends on where you live. In Texas, coal supplies only 25% of the power and that is falling fast. Within 10 years or less, there will be no coal power in Texas, because they are all losing money.

In addition to the federal subsidy, Texas has a $2500 subsidy on electric cars, but you can't apply it to Teslas because it is illegal to sell Teslas in Texas because Tesla doesn't use dealers.

And the sad thing is that Texas will NEVER get a dime of what it saves the federal government by prevent the THEFT of tax dollars by Tesla owners ($7,500 per vehicle...hard to believe).

Hopefully that will change under Trump.
