I didn’t know who John James was, either, so I looked him up. He’s a self-described “pro-life, pro-Second Amendment, pro-business conservative,” decorated Iraq War veteran, West Point grad with two masters degrees (including an MBA from University of Michigan), and a very successful businessman (president of a family business with annual revenue of over $100 million). And, not unimportant in Michigan elections, he is black.
