Reaction from Republican Sen. Richard Shelby and congressional Democrats rolled in Wednesday following President Trump's tweets announcing a ban on transgender people serving in the military.
Shelby, an Alabama Republican, said the president's announcement reverses the current "big tent" policy for the country's all-volunteer military and that he wanted to look more closely at Trump's morning tweets.

Shelby needs to go have a brain scan.
Unstable folks have no place in the military. There are other unstable folks in the military besides those who don’t know which body parts go where and whatfor. They should also be weeded out.
The internet is saying this is a distraction....that something big is coming, probably tomorrow.
“Discriminatory” is not a dirty word.
We discriminate all the time. Picking a spouse, a restaurant, a job, an employee, a house, a neighborhood.
Not discriminating is stupid.

They don’t join to be soldiers. They join for the free medical care, which is astronomic.
They’re too preoccupied with sexual identity issues to be good soldiers, IMHO.
Transgender change should be treated like other elective surgery, such as a nose or boob job. If you want it, you pay for it. Do they offer elective nose jobs in l.p. prison or the military? They shouldn’t offer gender-jobs, either.
This used to be obvious common wisdom until Obama came along. Why is it unAmericam to return to that now?

Let me get this straight. The president asks his military leaders what they think, and they say to not have transgenders in the military. He agrees.

The problem the transgenders pose for the military is that these people pursue their sex change bullshiite after they’ve already been accepted for service. This causes huge medical costs for reconstructive surgery and associated mental conditions, all of which render these sick people unfit for duty for years on end. Its a scam that Trump is hip to and trying to stop.

What some of these ignorant and dumb senators forget is that the military is no laboratory for social experimentation. The main purpose of the military is to kill people and break things and occasionally bring help to some disaster area and that’s about it.

Yup. It Mconnell actually calls for an up-or-down vote on repealing Obamaocare it will be another data point in excising these wastes of nutrients from our ranks.

I read that as of a few months ago, around 250 troops had been reported to start transition surgery. The costs are around $140,000 so that’s 35 million dollars just for them. That money could be spent on medical care badly needed for our troops and vets.
