What Jeff Sessions did in his “recusal” was the political and legal equivalent of the Iraqi army running away to leave tanks, guns, and Humvees for ISIS. His betrayal is one of the most dishonorable acts by any Republican in history.

Those who claim Sessions is prohibited from investigating the Trump campaign because he was part of that campaign are either lying or just wrong, and that includes Sessions himself. True, Sessions was a Trump supporter. He spoke out in support of Trump. But he was not a paid member of the campaign staff.

By recusing himself on the grounds that he was a Trump supporter sets precedent that no Trump supporter can work on cases involving the election campaign. Legal eggheads all now base their ridiculous argument that only Democrats and anti-Trumpers can investigate anything to do with the election.

This is the best protection that Hillary Clinton could buy. Sessions should be fired. And he should apologize to the President and the American people for his betrayal.

It comes down to this, no recusal no Mueller. If you were Trump how ticked would you be?

Sessions needs to go (as does Mueller), but there's no need for this slow airing of disappointment. Just fire the guy.

Put yourself in Trump’s shoes, say a friend of yours didn’t stand up for you, and because of that you and your family are facing years of investigations and possible/probable indictments. I’d beat the bastard to the ground.

Is it possible the President will fire Sessions when he can make a recess appointment of his replacement?

Rudy said Sessions did the proper thing. I know who he is and respect his opinion. You, not so much.

No, Sessions should voluntarily resign, and offer an apology to the President and the People! Trump is right, Sessions did him, and our country a huge disservice by accepting the AG position.

If he wants Sessions gone, the first indication will be that he fires him.

Trump and Sessions are playing a game. It goes on and on....and the media still bites.

Sessions offered his resignation. Trump wouldn't take it.

Please explain to me why Trump did not fire the Obama Deputy Attorney General at once the moment he took office or at the very least the moment Sessions took office and has still not fired the creep even as we speak?

I cannot help but think Trump and Sessions are working this thing together. Currently theleft is defending Sessions, but what happens if/when some big indictments come in a couple of weeks/months.

When asked if Sessions would step down, he very happily said no. Now, why would one of the, if not the most trusted member of the senate cling to this job? He could very easily say that the job might be a younger mans job, especially a pit bull type, and there is more corruption than he even realized. I am going to pass the torch. Totally saves face. Of course the usual reasons like money and padding ones resume don’t fit. Why wouldn’t he want to retire and enjoy his family and other interests. Why would someone with so much integrity want a job where his boss thinks he let him down? It really makes no sense unless they are working this together to create a distance between the POTUS and the AG because there are some big names about to be indicted. Plus, the people calling for Sessions resignation a short 6 mos. ago are now saying they will defend him if Trump fires him. This has created an aire of sympathy for Sessions with the media and the dems. Good strategy.

Agree 100%

Trump is loyal too. This is a game of very high stakes.

Could the recuser-in-chief undo his damage by un-recusing himself? One can think of good rhetoric to support this, but maybe I’m being too optimistic.

Thanks,

Either:

A: they are both in on this together. All the reasons will become clear as time goes on.

B. Sessions is a power hungry turncoat who will not step down even though the POTUS thinks his positions are weak. What on earth would be his motives for insisting on keeping this job?

Agreed.. I got a similar feeling by POTUS actually agreeing to an interview with the NY Slimes in order to proclaim his displeasure with Sessions. BOOM! Suddenly Sessions is the darling of the intellectual community!
