President Trump and his advisers are privately discussing the possibility of replacing Attorney General Jeff Sessions, and some confidants are floating prospects who could take his place were he to resign or be fired, according to people familiar with the talks. Members of Trumps circle, including White House officials, have increasingly raised the question among themselves in recent days as the president has continued to vent his frustration with the attorney general, the people said.

As a principled Conservative that's typically the case! :-)
I'm used to it here on FR these days. Didn't used to be this way "back in the day" when it was possible to have an exchange of thoughts and ideas without being accused of being a Democrat/Liberal/Progressive/Socialist/Communist for simply disagreeing with someone.
True, but Sessions should deliver. He backed Trump so he also should start draining the swamp and not stand around letting the swamp drag in Trump. Sessions is a good guy but he is the one that let Trump twisting in the wind.
Scaramucci says trump probably wants sessions gone.
This is not some ruse done in a agreement with trump and sessions in some 40 move chess BS
Its bullying Sessions..because he can..as haberman tweeted
There is one guy here who used to claim all kinds of stuff about me...like about some race in FL that i didnt even follow...how i was always a never trumper blah blah blah...
now even he has started to have problems with trump.
I am looking forward to what happens with the one who said trump would lose him if he fired sessions. I am going to start calling him a nevertrumper like he has done with me
Wow. I'm convinced!
Does Trump want sessions gone? Yes or no
I will answer
YES.
Btw...scaramucci praised holder
Get real. Sessions has been weak. Why is that? We are talking POTUS level now. Why isn’t Seaaions still sticking his neck out and leaving the lesser important things to others a Justice?
Okay, he recused himself. That should have kicked in some anger and a desire to go after all the crimes Ostinko and Hillary committed. Instead we get nothing. Sessions hasn’t even looked into the leakers. Why, is that?
Has Sessions drained the Justice swamp? I would wager he has not. He also praised Mueller. Please, that is ridiculous.
Sessions is not POTUS. Without Trump all the whiners around here will be kowtowing to creeps like Paul Ryan. Believe me, Pence is a nice guy, but he is not a fighter like Trump and he will be controlled by the elites and they know it.
Now I am even more convinced!
Our FR #nevertrumper always chimes in against Trump.
Not true.
I asked you a question. I am willing to state the answer. You wont
So when sessions is removed either by quitting..which he says he wont do..or fired..you will know I was right and this wasnt some pretend 40 chess move play in cooperation with sessions
Sessions has been an extreme disappointment. Hillary is still not indicted.
“It took THREE people to write this dribble?”
That’s pretty good for the WaPo.
Profound insight!
This might be a good time for Session to come out with an indictment of a high level player?
And i am not talking about Willy Nelson or Snoop Dogg.
I could be wrong . I could be right. But one thing i wont do is weasel out and try to pretend something else later.
Either you think sessions is cooperating in a ruse to be publicly lashed as I am told the majority here think..or you dont.
Trying to have it both ways?
-- Either you think sessions is cooperating in a ruse to be publicly lashed ... or you dont. --
Ahh, the multi-part inquiry, "cooperating in a ruse" or charade. By the way, I think a majority here find Trump to be sincere in his tweets. That is, there is no ruse, this is real.
If Trump really wants Sessions to resign, Sessions is not cooperating.
There are all sorts of possibilities between Trump really wanting Sessions gone -- as in having thought it through and wants him gone, replaced with an AG who will spike the Russia investigation and indict Hillary -- and this being pure theatre with no purpose other than to create a buzz.
Maybe Trump is just venting. Meaning he really believes Sessions is to blame for the appointment of Mueller, and the lack of progress against Hillary. The venting is sincere, in that case. At this moment, he wasnts Sessions to resign. But if he thought about the ramifications of Sessions leaving, he'd change his mind.
So, that gets to the "ruse" question. Are Trump's tweets sincere or not. Were his remarks to Haberman sincere or not.
A separate question is Sessions' role or view of all that. The "cooperation" part. I think I've expressed nmy thoughts on that.
I don't foresee Sessions getting fired or resigning, and beyond that, all we have is speculation.
On this very thread I was told the majority believe this is a ruse between sessions and trump. Btw..I am pretty sure that inside bannon source on here is claiming it is a ruse.
I am on the record saying no way. Of course I could be wrong. Sheesh...I am not privy to inside sources
My read is that I am not wrong. As always ..we will see.
Oh.and bannon sure went into hiding..taking a back seat..to preserve his position. No longer seen in front like in the past. Whether that was forced on him or not...smart move.
