Yes, they all could use your prayers. Do you deem some unworthy of prayer?
I was really, really stupid at 18. I would like to say that I was merely stupid, not murderous, but I honestly can’t. I didn’t recognize that abortion = violating the image of God. I never concerned myself with details - knowing about heart and brain development, the ability to feel pain, etc.. The less I knew, the more convenient.
Having said all that, I feel just outraged that this _____ felt no shame about having casually given her body away to be consumed by someone who didn’t love her. Neither did she feel shame about being pregnant. No, Brooke would’ve been embarrassed to have a living baby. That’s all, and so, like Ohio sorority sister Emile Weaver, she killed the baby.
I realize that it’s my disgrace that forgiveness doesn’t come easy to me. I’m working on it.
Jesus said it would be better to have a mill stone wrapped around someone’s neck and thrown into the sea if they harm the little ones.
If the baby was not full term it might explain why the family was ignorant of her pregnancy.
“Maybe the child she was carrying was her boyfriend’s, and he told her he didn’t want to pay child support”
Unlikely. Oh, the child may have been fathered by a boyfriend, but women rarely kill their children over lack of financial child support. The way she did it shows she was trying to hide the pregnancy in the first place. She was probably thought of as the perfect girl - pretty, a cheerleader, nice affluent family, good grades - and she thought she had ruined everything by getting pregnant. She felt compelled to hide it. And most likely there was no longstanding boyfriend. In most of these cases there isn’t.
“Praying for a soul does not mean excusing someone from punishment for a crime.”
I find that personal, professional and family concerns force me to ration who I pray for, and 18 year olds who murder people in cold blood whether they be in Carlisle, Ohio are Chicago, Illinois, are difficult to fit into my prayer schedule.
Not anymore, because that's racist.
But insecure girls who murder their babies sometimes do it in the hopes of keeping the love of the male that impregnated them.
“It isn’t relevant to the legal case.”
The legal case is all we have.
However, I’m sure he defense team will tell the jury how good she was, that she loved her mommy and and Jesus too and only murdered one person but has learned her lesson to no longer get pregnant, give birth and bury the remains in a shallow grave.
“But insecure girls who murder their babies sometimes do it in the hopes of keeping the love of the male that impregnated them.”
And sometimes 18 year olds are simply cold blooded murderers.
And just maybe, Brook Skylar’s boyfriend will write her letters while she is in prison and visit her every Mother’s Day.
hopes of keeping the love of the male that impregnated them
Most often when they kill a baby, the slut was impregnated by somebody else and is not killing the baby of the current male on the scene.
When an 18 year old murders another person, I do not consider their parents involvement in their lives as a relevant factor of their crime.
Not praying for her.
I was taken aback when I read several contributors on this thread refer to Brooke Skylar as a “child.”
Maybe FR is softening, but it is the first time I have seen posters calling an adult cold blooded murderer a “child.”
For some reason, if Skylar had been named Tyrone an 18 year old male from Detroit who murdered an infant, I doubt the word “child” would be used to refer to him.
How did this get past her parents?

Lots we don’t know as of today. If you do a web search you’ll find several articles
and differing amounts of info. The birth/burial happened over two months ago. Not sure
how the police became aware of the situation. Other articles have photos.
Perhaps we should include all of mankind in our prayers, since all have sinned.
Yep! That’s exactly what I expect as well. Amen!
