10 Illegal Aliens Are Dead Because of Sanctuary Cities, Says Texas Lt. Governor

Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick put the blame for the deaths of 10 illegal aliens packed in the back of an 18-wheeler on sanctuary cities. “[Sunday’s] tragedy is why I made passing Senate Bill 4 to ban sanctuary cities — which is now law — a top priority,” the Republican Lt. Governor posted on Facebook. “Sanctuary cities entice people to believe they can come to America and Texas and live outside the law. Sanctuary cities also enable human smugglers and cartels.”

Initially, eight people lost their lives from exposure to the heat and lack of water after human smugglers left 39 people locked in the back of a refrigerated trailer with a failed air conditioner. The death toll rose to nine later on Sunday and then to 10 early Monday.

“[T]hese people paid a terrible price and demonstrate why we need a secure border and legal immigration reform so we can control who enters our country,” Patrick wrote. “We continue to pray for the families and friends of the victims.”

My question: How did a tractor trailer load of illegals get across the border?

Yes, because of sanctuary cities. And those who would employ them. Go after the employers; cut off the problem.

That’s 39 ER visits that text payers had to pay for. As well as those that were hospitalized for longer.

They may have walked across, etc and met up with the truck at some location.
I’ve not seen anything that says the truck crossed but it may well have.

NAFTA and the stupid rules imposed on Americans in the business of crossing state lines on the highways by the DOT. If any company owned vehicle crosses a state line in the course of doing business for 1 penny, the driver must have a DAT permit along with the required paperwork and reporting regulations annually to keep the DOT number for the privilege of making that 1 penny whether in his home state or not.

It appears the truck was sold to someone in Mexico and the driver was hired to deliver it. He was probably paid to bring them back across the border and deliver to the WalMart parking lot and then on to Houston

They do use trucks that is for sure. Here is an example
from back a few years and they paid $7,000 each to ride.

Mexico City (CNN) — Mexican authorities said they found and detained more than
500 illegal immigrants from Central America and Asia who were crammed inside
two tractor-trailers heading toward the United States on Tuesday.

X-ray equipment detected the immigrants at checkpoints in the southern state
of Chiapas, the state attorney general’s office said. The drivers of both
trucks sped away after authorities ordered them to stop, but police apprehended
them nearby.

Inside the tractor-trailers, they found 513 people from El Salvador, Ecuador,
China, Japan, Guatemala, India, Nepal, Honduras and the Dominican Republic.

How did a tractor trailer load of illegals get across the border?

It didn’t. The illegals were already in the states and were loaded somewhere north of the border patrol checkpoint between Laredo and San Antonio.

I suspect that when or if we ever get the real story it will be as follows. Driver came from Laredo picked up his “load” north of the border patrol check point and was paid to deliver somewhere in the upper midwest. Refrigeration unit failed, driver freaked out and abandoned the truck/trailer in the San Antonio Walmart parking lot. He knew if he took the trailer in to have the refer unit repaired that he would go to jail.

Have come out of Laredo twice with an empty refer trailer and both times was approached to haul a “load” to the Upper Midwest (Omaha and Des Moines).

This $#!+ happens everyday on the border. Looking at the truck, my guess is that it was an owner/operator truck and the guy took the fast money. Now he is going to pay...10 counts of murder so far.

just my theory based on personal experience...red

Anyone who willingly allows themselves to be locked into the back of a refrigerator trailer...is likely not smart enough to reproduce.

Perhaps Darwin was on to something.

I thought it was because of evil Trump banning the illegal alien traffic. They had to sneak in.

The best thing you can do is say “No Thank you” and walk away.
