It species what conditions and criteria the Provincial health insurance programs must meet to receive Federal funding. That said, ‘health care is a Provincial responsibility so coverage is a patchwork across the Provinces, with each Province funding differing things. It is so non standard, that Albertans who do not have private coverage through work, are advised to buy Blue Cross, not just when they leave the country, but when they leave the PROVINCE to visit other parts of Canada.
