Officials in the Trump administration's State Department are standing by a recent report criticized by Congress that blamed Israel for terror attacks and claimed Palestinians rarely incite violence, telling the Washington Free Beacon that it remains unclear why terrorists engage in violent acts.
Rep. Peter Roskam (R., Ill.), co-chair of the House Republican Israel Caucus, criticized the State Department Thursday for releasing a report portraying Israel as the culprit in terrorism and downplaying Palestinian incitement of violent acts against the Jewish state, the Free Beacon first reported.
Roskam demanded the State Department alter its report to bring it more in line with what he believes are the facts on the groundthat Palestinian leaders routinely incite violence against Israel, which has been forced to defend itself against a growing wave of terror attacks on Jewish citizens.
A State Department official, speaking on background, defended the report's conclusions and said that it cannot precisely pinpoint the motivations behind Palestinian terror attacks on Israel.
"We recognize that in any community, a combination of risk factors can come together to create a higher risk of radicalization to violence," the official said. "There is no one single pathway to violenceeach individual's path to terrorism is personalized, with certain commonalities. Therefore, it is difficult to pinpoint precisely what the sources of radicalization to violence are. What could drive someone to violence in one instance could vary significantly with someone else who is similarly situated."
The State Department's response prompted a fierce backlash among U.S. officials and Trump administration insiders, who said the State Department under the leadership of Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has gone rogue and is out of line with the White House's position on a range of sensitive diplomatic issues, including the Israeli-Palestinian impasse.

With all due respect, are you saying I was wrong to post this? That there are not problems at State?
Even if this is fake news as you define it, this article comes on the heels of another article Free Beacon wrote last week regarding the viscous attacks by Palestinians in Israel last week.
In this article there is a report referenced, Peter Roskam responded to it and the Washington Free Beacon is not what is considered a “Fake News Website.”
Sorry!!!!
I vow to use better discretion.
It looks so ...real...
Shame on me!
Now that I think of it, Adam Kredo was a Never Trumper, IIRC.
I did a search and did not find that. Also, recently, he has written and tweeted in support of Trump.
This was not about Trump, this was about State, the Deep State.
Maybe I’m mixing the Washington Free Beacon up with the Washington Examiner. One of them was Never Trumper.
If LS thinks it’s fake news, the chances are very good that it is fake news. I would assume someone fed it to him.
PS- I did scan down article at link and saw no names, all unnamed sources. I guess that is the key of ascertaining likely fake news.
Moslems have been killing Jews since 627 AD!
Well, that is one definition. It may all be turn out to Fake News; however, Mark Levin** had Kredo on his program on Friday and did not seem to think it was fake news. Levin likes Washington Free Beacon as a source as well. I think Levin can tell the difference. That is why I went to the website in the first place...to read the article, and I thought other people would want to read it too...instead, I am taking incoming for posting this.
I think Washington Free Beacon is a legit and fair news source (unlike some blog/sites, Politico, etc).
I also think there is validity to what was reported about Roskam because of Roskam’s comments and reaction to the report noted in the article:

Though the WH reaction was not sourced, I think the report and Roskam’s reaction are Real News...
And I think there are problems at State.
**Full disclosure, tho I was very angry and upset with Levin for his obnoxiously late endorsement of President Trump, he has been doing excellent reporting on the Supreme Court and this Mueller Kangaroo court investigation. Levin is not anti-Trump, and as I said, I don’t think Levin is in the habit of broadcasting fake news...
You can read the report if you wish...it is 455 pages.
Not sure if you are into Twitter but this is Kredo’s feed which you can access without having a twitter account. Some interesting stuff there.

Oops - yes, Roskam’s name was mentioned, my mistake.
Kredo posts on the Center for Security Policy Institute (I may have gotten the name not quite right, it’s late...) and IIRC Frank Gaffney is connected with it, so it is a good organization.
The only thing I can think is that the report says that, and it is rogue people putting it forward. The part about Tillerson agreeing with it sound very doubtful.
I do not like Levin for two reasons: He was the first to slam anyone doubting 0h0le’s NBC status/legitimacy and then his mystery birth and shady background; he was very nasty about it. And second, he was ultra nasty about Trump. So whatever other good qualities he may have, I have no use for him.
Kredo posts on the Center for Security Policy Institute (I may have gotten the name not quite right, its late...) and IIRC Frank Gaffney is connected with it, so it is a good organization.
Thanks! Did not know about the Security Policy Institute, and I do try to follow Gaffney as I think he is very knowledgeable.
OH I get the Levin thing...I, too, was really upset with Levin, but again, I have more or less forgiven him at least to the point of listening to some of his shows as he goes through what is Constitutional and what is not, etc.
Fregards!
Laurence and Allenby et al.’s conspiracy is alive and well, and has become ubiquitous in foreign service circles, regardless of who has been elected recently, and regardless of which country.

Didn’t JFK just ignore the State Department and skirt them every chance he had?? They sputtered and mewled of course. ;(
