Murdoch to Ailes: Tilt the Election to Anyone But Trump – EVEN HILLARY

Rupert Murdoch didn’t want Donald Trump to win the presidential election. According to a longtime friend of the former Fox News CEO, Roger Ailes, Murdoch wanted to tilt the election to any other candidate than Trump, even if it was Hillary!

Ailes passed away in May at the age of 76.

Via The Washington Examiner:

Media mogul Rupert Murdoch wanted to tilt the U.S. presidential election to any candidate but President Trump, according to a longtime friend of former Fox News CEO Roger Ailes.

“Murdoch instructed Ailes to tilt to anyone but Trump, Ailes confided to me before he was fired, even Hillary. (Ailes, for his part, characterized Murdoch’s periodic efforts at interference as similar to Nixon’s instructions to bomb this or that country — best ignored.),” Michael Wolff wrote in a column Thursday, one day before the one-year anniversary of Ailes’ resignation.

The former writer for USA Today and the UK edition of GQ insisted Ailes’ unapologetic support for President Trump ultimately led to his firing by the parent company’s Murdoch family.

“It was Ailes’ tacit support of Trump that, in part, made his removal from Fox all the more urgent for the Murdochs. And it was not just the liberal sons who were agitated by Ailes’ regard for Trump, but also the father, whose tabloid, the New York Post, helped create Trump, but who found him now, with great snobbery, not of ‘our’ conservative class,” Wolff wrote.

TGP previously reported on the ultra liberal Murdoch family after they fired Bill O’Reilly back in April– the top personality on cable news for the past 15 years.

James and Lachlan Murdoch, two committed leftists with perhaps a different vision (or secretly the same) than their father for the FOX News channel.

The new FOX News will not include Bill O’Reilly. In fact, the Murdoch family did not even allow Bill to say good-bye to his friends and millions of fans.

They wiped Bill O’Reilly’s name from “The Factor” on Wednesday night.

In another sign of the direction of the new FOX News the Murdoch family not only dumped Bill, but promoted far left hacks Bob Beckel and Juan Williams. Bob Beckel was subsequently fired for making racist comments to an IT staffer.

Megyn Kelly was also very anti-Trump during the 2016 presidential election. She eventually moved to NBC, however; her ratings are in the tank.

Fox News’ Shepard Smith is also anti-Trump with his most recent statements that the White House keeps getting caught in lie after lie following the report that Donald Trump Jr. met with a Russian lawyer. Hannity unleashed on Shepard Smith over his anti-Trump comments.

Aren’t there enough anti-Trump news outlets? People go to Fox News to get away from the Trump bashing. If Fox News doesn’t change, they will continue to lose viewership.

How did Murdoch win with either Trump or Hillary.

We know for a fact that Murdoch has been a friend of Hillary for years. But, Trump was the ideal candidate of all the Republican candidate of all of them for the "Murdoch style"media. Murdoh/Fox News/NYPost was always about sensationalism, big headlines/drama. Not so much on the other stuff.

Well, we will have to disagree more...

I watched daily in early 2016...Fox clearly began promoting Rubio...then Trump took him down. They then promoted Cruz, and then Trump took him down. At the time, I remember thinking it was as if a memo had gone out to Fox staff to promote anyone but Trump...sort of jibes with the article.

During that time period, many here were commenting on how even MSNBC and CNN were presenting less biased news coverage than Fox.

During this same time period, Trump even skipped the Fox News Presidential candidate debate in Iowa—so much for portraying an image with Fox. Here is an article to jog your memory:

http://www.cnn.com/2016/01/27/politics/donald-trump-iowa-debate-2016-election/

There were articles about Fox staff having relatives on Rubio campaign...Here is one written in the time period this was happening....

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2016/01/28/trump-campaign-manager-exposes-that-fox-news-executive-in-charge-of-debates-has-daughter-working-for-marco-rubio/

Frankly, I was very disappointed with much of the coverage on Fox with the exception of Hannity, Gretta and Judge Jeanine. O’Reilly was not dependably supporting Trump, Kelly was constantly attacking him, and Brett Baier often reported stories in the most unflattering view of Trump possible.

During election night, you could see Kelly tearing up visibly upset that Trump had won...

So, yeah, I could not disagree more.
