One problem is that, if President Trump is innocent, he doesn’t need leverage. He just needs the truth. This doesn’t look like a good path to walk. If there is no “there” there, then don’t worry about. Just proceed with governing.
The name Scooter Libby ring any bells for ya?
There was no “there” there for Scotter Libby and yet he was found guilty.
Nonsense. How would you and your family like the district attorney or the FBI or IRS sniffing around aspects of your life, looking at your private matters in the hopes of finding anything amiss?
Even assuming you’re as pure as the wind driven snow
One problem is that, if President Trump is innocent, he doesnt need leverage. He just needs the truth.
Read the book “THree felonies a day”. That is the average number of felonies an average white collar person in America is likely to commit in a day, whether they want to or not.
Tell that to Scooter Libby.
Tell that to Scooter Libby. The Special Prosecutor knew who the Valerie Plame leaker was before the investigation started, but they were going after Cheney and Rove. Scooter Libby did no leaking which was the subject of the investigation.
If I were you, FRiend, I would do an occasional perusal of sfgate or boston or nytimes or even some of the larger radio/tv outlets on either coast (add .com to each, refuse to give them a free link here). What you will find in each spot is innuendo, conjecture and unnamed sources along with a whole lot of opinion passed off as "serious journalism".
Worse yet, the sheeple in these parts of the country think that it is the gospel truth!
These folks have an assignment from the Dems: Kill Trump. Remove him from office. The swamp fighting back.
In DC politics, the “TRUTH” often is a loser. Just ask Scooter Libby.

No major business can stand to have a special counsel poking around every single transaction, and then placing perjury traps for the principals at every turn.
I am certain this applies to a self-made NYC real-estate mogul.
There are lots of grey areas in the business world. That does not make them bad.
Americans had better GROW UP, IN a HURRY, or we may lose it all—capitalism, prosperity, freedom, our possessions, our history, our culture and even our families.
The main purpose of these investigations against Trump is not only to bring him down but to stymie his agenda....he can’t function 100% as president with a fishing expedition going on....he needs to clear this up by going at it full speed ahead first and then he can have a chance to work more effectively
You’ve got to be kidding. You need to look to history to see how many innocent people have had their carriers destroyed by these vermin dc liars.
He needs more than the factual truth. His opponents spin up innocent remarks ("if Russia has the 30,000 emails ...") into a finding that Trump is working with the Russians.
Mueller needs to follow the DoJ regulations that cabin the scope of his jurisdiction. The press has been misrepresenting the scope of Mueller's jurisdiction. Whether or not the press reports are correct remains to be seen, but Trump should be pushing back on scope of jurisdiction.
Mueller's grant refers to Comey's March 20 testimony.
I have been authorized by the Department of Justice to confirm that the FBI, as part of our counterintelligence mission, is investigating the Russian government's efforts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election and that includes investigating the nature of any links between individuals associated with the Trump campaign and the Russian government and whether there was any coordination between the campaign and Russia's efforts.
To me, this means Mueller's jurisdiction investigates ONLY these angles (and any obstruction related events that occur as these angles are probed):
In relation to Trump defending himself agianst the army of accusers under Mueller's command, I think it is also fair for Trump to research and produce material up to and including the equivalent of the dodgy dossier. That would be a response no stronger than the attack made against him. This is a self-defense principle, he is entitled to use as much force in response, as he was confronted with in the first place. Draw the line at "dodgy dossier" type accusations.
The Left is VICIOUS and BLOOD THIRSTY!
Once upon a time, I would have agreed with you. But all you need to do is look at the gentlemanly and inoffensive Bush, who essentially lost his ability to govern effectively because he and anyone around him were the target of one demented witch-hunt after another - and he did nothing to resist. The same thing would happen to Trump, and his only chance is to fight back.
You say, “just proceed with governing.” However, Trump’s attack on the mainstream media goes hand in hand with his governing philosophy. He wasn’t call the “steamroller” in NYCity for nothing.
It should be noted that the NYTimes writers who interviewed Trump were amazed at his equanimity. They thought after six months of constant opposition he would be somewhat chastened. They found a Trump ready and able to do battle. Years ago the Democrat Party fielded a man named Al Smith for President. Al was known as the “Happy Warrior”. It looks like we have a new Happy Warrior.
I think you are being naive. The democrats play for keeps. Heck, the Clintons have people killed if they dare come forward to tell the truth. With Mueller and his gang of partisan hacks, they will do anything to try and put the stink on anyone in the Trump administration, regardless of whether its true or not. Combine with the willing media (CNN/MSNBC/ABC/CBS/NYTimes, etc) it will be such a one-sided dispersal of "facts" and a whole lot of opinion, based on anonymous sources.
Trump should fire Mueller now.
As a former CJ instructor, you need to know that truth does not always win out in these investigations. If it did, we wouldn’t have to release those people wrongly convicted after 20-30 years of imprisonment.
The criminal justice system needs an overhaul, because there are just as many deviant, and criminal minds prosecuting, arresting, and providing so called justice, as there are true criminals anymore. Justice must be fought for and constantly overseen to prevent perverted justice.
"If"? IF?
Gawrsh for someone that signed up at the freaking height of Shrub's - oderunt vos ignorare media ignore the media who hate you - that's a hell of a lot of memory loss in 14 years. You may want to get that checked out...
